First Congregational Church of Essex Receiving & extending the hospitality of Jesus as we connect with God, one another, & our community. Join us for worship, Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

We invite you to come and enjoy being in community with God's people as we seek to live, grow, and serve together. (masking is no longer required). Sunday school for all ages is offered at 9:30 a.m. On most Sundays, live streaming is available at 10:30 a.m., and can be found here on FB after that. Throughout the week, a wide range of ministries and opportunities for Christian growth and service are also available, please go to your website www.fccoe.org. The Gospel isn’t a promise of instant comfort. It’s the promise that one day every tear will be wiped away, suffering will end, and all the sad things will come untrue. Until then, we wait, endure, and trust God—finding His peace even in the midst of suffering.

Headship is never a license for control, abuse, or self-interest. Biblical headship is contingent upon Christlike love, sacrifice, and service. The moment leadership stops looking like Jesus, it forfeits its authority.
