The St. James and Calvary Vestries are pleased to announce that we've called Deacon Heather Caulfield-Mills as our Deacon-In-Charge starting August 1st and as Priest-In-Charge once she is ordained in December. Deacon Heather graduated from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale recently, following years of experience as an end-of-life doula, instructor, and writer.

Deacon Heather looks forward to bringing a love of pastoral care built on skills as an end-of-life doula and hospital chaplain, as well as a passion for collaboration and community organizing–gathering people around a shared vision, providing steadying leadership during times of uncertainty or upheaval. She is eager to further develop youth and children’s ministries and outreach ministries in our communities.

Save the date (Sept. 3-5) for a gathering commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1976 General Convention resolution declaring that LGBTQ+ people have a full and equal claim to the pastoral care and support of The Episcopal Church. The event, “Full and Equal: 50 Years in Pursuit of a Promise,” will celebrate progress and acknowledge the work that remains.

The three-day gathering, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sept. 3-5, will include storytelling coaching, workshops, a banquet, and a Eucharist featuring Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe as presider and Bishop Gene Robinson as preacher. Spanish-language interpretation will be available.
