Today, we pause at the foot of the cross.
On this holy day, we remember a love so deep it chose sacrifice—and a grace so powerful it continues to transform the world. Good Friday invites us into sacred stillness, calling us to reflect on Christ’s suffering and the boundless mercy revealed through the cross.
Even now, we see crosses around us—in the struggles of our communities, in the cries for justice, and in the quiet burdens many carry. Yet the message of Good Friday is clear: God does not turn away from suffering. In Jesus, God enters into it. As people of the New Hope Episcopal Area, may we be a community that embodies this love—standing with those who suffer, seeking justice, and extending grace in a world that longs for healing. And even as we sit in the solemnity of this day, we do so with hope. The cross is not the end of the story. Resurrection is coming.
