A Collect for Memorial Day:
Almighty God, you hold in your hands both the living and the dead. We remember before you all those who have laid down their lives in the service of their country. Grant them your mercy and the light of your presence; and, that their death may not have been in vain, increase in us the will to work unceasingly for justice and peace among men and women and nations; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
