Kids 2 stepped into the exciting world of board games for an unforgettable week!

We kicked things off with a colorful Candy Land Carnival, followed by a Clue-inspired mystery scavenger hunt filled with twists and surprises. The world of Jumanji came to life with a visit from some furry friends at our petting zoo, while Pictionary Day gave everyone a chance to showcase their artistic and musical talents. Finally, we wrapped up the week in Monopoly World, raising a glass at Mr. Monopoly’s Mansion before ending the night with an elegant dance.

Throughout the week campers enjoyed dips in the pool, walks to the river, wood shop classes, karaoke and so much more. It was a week filled with adventure, creativity, friendship, and plenty of fun!

Introducing today's next Hall of Fame honoree, Brother Owen Ormsby!
Br. Owen played a pivotal role in transforming Esopus into the vibrant and comprehensive center it is today, including establishing the first MBCE Board. Through his vision, creativity, and unwavering belief in the goodness of every person, Br. Owen transformed not simply a property, but a place of encounter where thousands have discovered faith, friendship, healing, and purpose.

Celebrating our Hall of Fame honorees today, we introduce Coleen Waldron!
Coleen visited Kids2 Camp and immediately experienced the friendship, service, and faith that embodies Esopus. She has since served as the Chair of the MBCE Board, Chair of both the Finance & Development Committees, a member of the Foundation Board, and also helped strengthen MBCE's long term sustainability. Her smile and warmth is contagious and we are blessed to have her in the Esopus family!

Over the years, Br. James taught Spanish at Malloy, mentored students, served on the MBCE Board & the Buildings committee, as well as maintained USDA reimbursement for nearly 2 decades for the Esopus camps. We at Esopus are blessed to experience his warmth, quick wit, and unwavering dedication for over 60 years.

Mid-Hudson Valley Camp, Deaf Camp 2026 was truly out of this world!

New and returning campers were welcomed home to Esopus for another unforgettable week of fun and friendship.

Campers stayed busy all week with swimming, arts and crafts, dance, woodshop, rock climbing, challenge games in the gym, and more. On Tuesday, we had a special visit from the wrestlers, who brought lots of excitement and energy to camp! Wednesday brought our annual carnival - always a camper favorite, along with hayrides and the campfire! Thursday we hosted “Galaxy Games” where groups competed throughout the property in minute-to-win-it style challenges!

Friday was the perfect way to wrap up the week. Campers showed off all of their hard work and talent at the Deaf Camp Dance Show. The night was topped off with our annual dance party, giving everyone a chance to celebrate an incredible week together!

Another week of Deaf Camp is in the books! We’re holding onto the memories and counting down until next year!

Today's Hall of Fame honorees are The Esopus Runners!
Led by Ali Brennan, the group's enthusiasm and dedication is contagious. Their fundraising efforts have brought countless positive changes to the Center at Esopus over the years, most recently contributing to the installation of mini-split AC units to provide relief to the second floor dormitory rooms in the summer heat!

Adult Vacation celebrated its 50th Anniversary at the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus!
Our vacationers happily returned to camp to greet long time pals and make new friends.

To celebrate 50 years, our theme had to be magic! Vacationers crafted wands, sipped on magically brewed concoctions, and created magical artifacts of their own. All while still finding time to take a dip in the pool and enjoy all our usual camp activities.

Adult Vacation hosted a wondrous magical circus, with performances that had everyone spellbound. The visiting wizard performers even lent some of their magic and involved our vacationers.

We also held the Tri-wizard Tournament! Where campers and counselors joined together and tested their courage as teams. While fun was had by all, team Hufflepuff was the victor after a hard-fought game of quidditch.

We went out with a bang for our 50th year of making dreams come true with Fireworks! We cannot be more thankful to the giants who came before us, whose shoulders we stand upon. We are excited to continue these traditions for the next 50 years.
