Will search engines and AI replace the Holy Spirit?

Instantaneous Information...
In years past, the answers to one's curiosities, had to be sought out and researched. Then the information needed to be confirmed as the most current. In today's multi-media world, simply speak the word or words and a search engine will scan the world wide web indexing and ranking content and it's popularity.

Before smart phones and computers, one would delve into questions about life, eternity, God, heaven and hell by prayerfully reading the Word for hours contemplating, meditating to
learn the answers from God. Many folks would then attend church, where the Holy Spirit would further convict hearts. This conviction was unlike anything ever felt before. The Holy Spirit and Word of truth would grab hold of hearts convincing men of sin, guilt, God's love, righteousness and grace; where in one is powerfully drawn to seek God's salvation in Jesus Christ. As the word of truth takes root in one's heart, one will also seek to love and please God.

The glories, the love, the truth of God
in Jesus Christ are infinite. Let us consider the limitations of man's world wide web, AI and the search engines. Computers and the mass media regurgitate how other men quantify and define creation. Question: how then will mass media and AI define the spiritual and eternal things of God?

Unfortunately the impatient nature of man often enjoys the instantaneous gratification and information coming from an electronic box, whether or not it is from the Holy Spirit of God.

Holy Spirit teaches all things
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus is calling...

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

The Bible speaks of thieves and robbers, who seek to enter God's fold apart from the door, who is Jesus Christ. These attempts may ease one's conscience, but are not the true
means of pleasing God. What were the thieves and robbers seeking to aquire? Answer: the favor and blessing of God.

The Lord's sheep fold must be a very special place, if folks are willing to climb walls in an attempt to force their way into it. Is the sheep fold the spiritual house of God?

Heb 3:5-6 House of God
1 Peter 2:4-6 built into a spiritual
house

Jesus defines his sheep as those who hear the Shepherd and follow Him into the sheep fold, where the Shepherd feeds, protects and dwells with His sheep and they find rest.

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

If the Lord's Church is not important, then why is Jesus calling and leading sheep into His fold?

Our goal is devotion to Jesus not self promotion.

John 3:30“He must increase, but I must decrease.

Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

Isaiah 55:1-2 – “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?”

We can have everything the world has to offer, and our appetites are still not satisfied. For some it’s a new car or a new house, for others it’s the next adventure or place to see, for yet others it’s a better high (in whatever form it comes). We tell ourselves, “Once I have that next thing, then I’ll be fulfilled, then I’ll be satisfied.” And yet, when we find ourselves reaching that next goal, the temporary pleasure is short-lived and there is a hunger for more. For others it is a longing for things that are out of reach, discontented with life until we’re able to obtain our heart’s desire. In all this we diligently labor and fret for things that just won’t satisfy. As Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well, “Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again.” Like drinking brackish water to try and quench our thirst, this life with its many pursuits will only leave us wanting for something else. Thankfully there is true food and true drink that will genuinely satisfy our longings. It is the spiritual food of God’s word and the spiritual drink of His Spirit dwelling in our hearts and minds. By these, man will find the true craving of his heart, nearness with his Creator. The best news of all, this nourishment is free to anyone who is willing to partake in it!

So, as we spend our time and energy in life’s various pursuits, may we answer the question posed to us from above, “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?”

Wishing everyone a blessed Lord's Day!

John 10:1-5 – “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and robber. But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. And a stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”

Are we the sheep of the Great Shepherd? Do we know His voice? Do we follow at His call? Can we discern between the voice of the Shepherd and the voice of a stranger? The stranger is a thief who robs us of true spiritual blessings, offering as a substitute man’s religion and the temporal pleasures of this life. May we not be led astray by the voices of so many strangers. May we not desire after their false offer of life. I pray that we all might hear the voice of the tender Shepherd, obey his words, and find good pasture (true life in Him).

Wishing everyone a blessed Lord’s Day!

John 11:25 – “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies…’”

John 5:25 - “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.”

Rom 6:9-12 – “Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him…Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey its lusts.”

Romans 8:11 – “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Today, as many take the time to remember the resurrection of our Lord, may we consider the amazing power that was made available to us at that triumphant moment…the power of a resurrected life. For those who hear the word of God and are convicted by His Spirit to trust and follow in obedience, their changed life from following the impulses of the sinful flesh to following the righteousness of God is the essence of living a resurrected life. Just as it is impossible for man to raise man from the dead, so also is it impossible for man to experience this resurrected life by our own power. This resurrected life does not come by reading self-help books and picking ourselves up by our own bootstraps. Nor does it come through religious ceremonies, however pious they may seem. Rather, it comes by the power of God’s word and by His Spirit leading us in a direction that is completely foreign to that of our sinful flesh. The only part we have is offering to God a willing and trusting heart. With this God can raise us up in the likeness of His son, triumphant over sin and death, that we might experience true life that has no end.

Wishing everyone a blessed Lord’s Day!

1Ch 16:28-29 - "Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."

Wishing everyone a blessed Lord's day!

Thanksgiving depicted by listening, giving back and glorifying God

Luke 17:12 As He entered a village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him;
13 and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 When He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed.
15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice,
16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they?

In some ways, our contribution is small. We plant the seed of truth. We water sharing the means to God's love and blessing. The Holy Spirit does the heavy lifting by touching the hearts and minds of the hearers. So don't be fooled into thinking a few words are useless. Words explaining God's wonderful Salvation, His abundant Grace and immeasurable Love can change the world. For these precious words allow the Holy Spirit further opportunity to reach the hearts of our friends, family, neighbors, loved ones, even strangers in need.

1 Cor 3:5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one.
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.
7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.
8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s
field, God’s building.

Some may only take a cursory glance. However, The Bible and God's Holy Spirit call upon every person to hear and respond to God's love and truth. Are you willing to become a person of faith? Are you willing to accept God's wisdom and revelation found in Jesus? For in that wisdom are eternal blessings and the way to life with God Almighty.

Cor 2:6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away;
7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;
8 the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;
9 but just as it is written,
“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;
23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
