We are the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in San Marcos, California. We want to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Our vision for San Marcos is to see the coaches and athletes in these schools impacted by the love of Jesus. We know “love” can be a cliche but we really hope to bring the love of Jesus Christ to these coaches and athletes! We believe the love of Jesus can be life changing and we want to see it change the lives of those on these campuses. FCA has an amazing opportunity to be on campus each week bringing Christ love to the students and coaches. With Christ’s love we can change the hearts of coaches which then have an immediate impact on the athletes they coach! A lot of hurt, brokenness, and looking for self worth are root issues that can be resolved and restored with Jesus’s love. We hope that you can come alongside of us as we fulfill the calling the God has placed on our hearts!
Now a little bit about our Area Representative Jahsh Barela.
I grew up a San Marcos local attending Mission Hills High School and Woodland Park Middle School. I left to New Mexico for two years and played college football for New Mexico Military Institute. I am now back home in San Marcos and working with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry right where I grew up. God has blessed me with a chance to work alongside Fellowship of Christian athletes, where I will head up the coach/student ministry back at Mission Hills HS, San Marcos HS, Woodland Park Middle, San Elijo Middle, and San Marcos Middle. I get to bring the gospel into these public schools and get a chance to share it with students, coaches, and teachers. I am able to step into this role and be a “at-home” missionary if you will and pursue these people for Christ! Monday through Friday I will be on at least one of these campuses. So blessed with this ministry of getting to love on these students, coaches, and teachers! None of this would be possible without donors who support me in prayer and financially.
We appreciate covering the ministry in prayer and look forward to sharing everything that God is going to do in San Marcos!
