I walk past this cactus near my house all the time and most of the year it’s just a plain green cactus. 🌵 But every year when the sun and heat really kick in, it suddenly blooms with these HUGE, absolutely gorgeous flowers. 🌸

It made me think about how sometimes it’s the hottest, hardest seasons that bring out something beautiful we didn’t even know was there. ❤️

“The desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing.” — Isaiah 35:1–2

Such a beautiful little reminder that even in the desert, we can bloom. 🌵🌸

Three weeks after several wildfires in Eastern Washington destroyed hundreds of homes, two Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ministered to Latter-day Saints in the region. President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles traveled to Spokane, Washington, for a special meeting and to meet with those affected by recent fires on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
