As followers of Christ and on behalf of House of Prayer Lutheran Church, we are deeply grieved by the violence that occurred at the Islamic Center in San Diego today. Christ's final commandment was that we should love one another as God has loved us. As such, we stand firmly against hatred in all its forms. At this time, we pray for those affected and reaffirm our commitment to peace, compassion, and solidarity with our Muslim neighbors. I pray that hope and love might overcome the violence and fear that plagues our communities and the world.
