“May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all He has made!”
Psalm 104:31
What a beautiful truth to hold onto: the Lord takes pleasure in you. You are not merely tolerated by God—you are loved, cherished, and a joy to His heart. So many people live believing God is constantly disappointed in them, watching from a distance with frustration. But Scripture reminds us that the One who created you delights in what He has made.
Think about the love a parent has for their child. There are moments when children disobey, make messes, ignore instructions, or test our patience. Yet even in those frustrating moments, our love for them does not disappear. We still smile at their laughter, treasure their hugs, and feel joy simply because they are ours. Their behavior may grieve us at times, but it never cancels our love or the delight we take in them.
In a far greater and more perfect way, that is how our Heavenly Father feels about us. Yes, sin grieves His heart, and disobedience can create distance in our fellowship with Him. But His love remains steadfast. He does not look at you as a burden. He sees you as His beloved creation. He rejoices over you with compassion, patience, and mercy.
Sometimes we are harder on ourselves than God is. We focus on our failures, weaknesses, and mistakes, while God sees the person He lovingly formed and continues to shape. He is not finished with you. Every step of growth, every prayer whispered through tears, every attempt to follow Him matters to His heart.
Today, remember this: you bring joy to the Lord simply because you are His. Let that truth quiet the lies that say you are unwanted or unloved. The God who created the heavens and earth takes pleasure in you, His child.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me so deeply and taking joy in me. Help me to believe that I am cherished by You even when I fail or fall short. Teach me to rest in Your love and to walk closely with You each day. Thank You for being a compassionate Father whose love never changes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
