After the third time that the mother told her children to be quiet in church, the daughter pouted and asked, “Why do we have to be quiet in church?” Her brother quickly chimed in, “Because people are sleeping!”

"Bright Sunday," or "Holy Humor Sunday" is an ancient tradition, started by the Greeks in the early centuries of Christianity. Continuing the celebration of Christ's resurrection from the dead, the Sunday following Easter is a time of joy and laughter. After all, God does get the last laugh over sin and death!

Come worship with us Sunday, April 7 at 11am. The service will be joyful (possibly even accompanied by kazoos!) and communion will be shared.

Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We celebrated Palm Sunday with a delicious covered dish lunch.

Come mark the beginning of the season of Lent with us on Wednesday, February 14 at 6pm. All will be invited to receive the symbol of the cross in ashes on your forehead or hand.

"Is this the kind of fast I have chosen,
only a day for people to humble themselves?
Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed
and for lying in sackcloth and ashes?
Is that what you call a fast,
a day acceptable to the Lord?"
Isaiah 58:5 NIV
