Face The Problem Don’t choose to be a peacekeeper when you see a person sin against another. The choice to maintain harmony in such instance will not bring resolution to the problem but aggravate it. When King David did nothing about his first-born Amnon’s r**e of Tamer many more tragedies followed. Therefore, choose to confornt and swiftly deal with the situation justly and fairly. Prayer: Lord, You put a good sense of justice in me. When I see someone commit sin, let me not turn a blind eye but help me to have the courage to confront the person and deal with the issue in a just and fair manner. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Proud Or Thankful? What’s the problem with pride? Biblical writers unanimously condemn pride because it promotes an illusion of self-sufficiency. It discounts grace; it ignores God’s hand; it strangles thankfulness. Pride is the core of sin, and we need to abandon and destroy it before it destroys us. Maybe today you can humbly write out a quick ‘Thanks’ list of just a few things God has done for you. Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve acted self-sufficient, proud, or arrogant about my own health, wealth or accomplishments. It’s so easy. And so wrong. Give me a humble heart; a thankful spirit consciously aware that whatever I am and have comes from you. You are my source; you are my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Drama Of Grace What a great picture of grace! Here a cripple from the household of a ‘has-been’ previous royal family not only gets his property restored, but obtains direct access to the court, eating DAILY with the king. It’s likely Mephibosheth is the only person in the kingdom included in this routine! What a dramatic picture of what the Lord has done for us – rescuing us from obscurity and making us adopted children of the King of kings! Prayer: Dear Lord, like Mephibosheth, I’m an undeserving ‘adoptee’ in your kingdom. Through your love and mercy you’ve changed me from pauper to Prince. I’m seated at your table of abundance and always ‘enough!’ And I am truly thankful. May I be quick today to share this wonder and joy with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good Sunday Morning! Come join us as we welcome Louisiana Adult and Teen Challenge Men today! They will bring a message with their testimonies. A Different Kind Of Peace What kind of peace is this our Lord promises? The peace of truth and transparency. The peace of sins forgiven and relationships restored. Peace within, around, and between. He offers the peace of knowing we don’t have to control every detail. The peace of knowing our times and circumstances are in his hands. (I’m feeling better already! How about you?) Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, my heart rests in your peace today. There are so many conflicts and chaos around us, yet I know there is peace in you. Help me not to just know it in my head, but hold it in my heart and that no trouble or fear remains. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

At Home In Zion When David and his men took this small fortified city from the Jebusites, it became a lasting symbol for Israel, God’s protection and favour. This is the first time the word ‘Zion’ is used to describe it, but the word occurs over 150 times in Scripture, continuing into the book of Revelation. Those trying to reestablish the nation of Israel in the early half of the 20th Century were known as Zionists. If God had a ‘home’, it would be Zion. Prayer: Dear Lord, I’m aware today that nowhere is the ‘promised land’ more focused than in the word Zion. You love the Jews in a special way; they are your ‘chosen people’. I pray for Jerusalem and Israel today. I pray for its peace and safety. I pray that those living there will recognize you as their Messiah. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Walking In Blessing “Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.” – Psalm 119:1 The start of this psalm, the start of the Hebrew alphabet (aleph) begins with a statement of blessing for those committed to God’s instruction. For the next 176 verses, the psalmist expands on this theme --- the importance of God’s laws, statues, wisdom, word, decrees, commands and promises. Walking with God is truly a place of blessing! Prayer: Father God, I’m so thankful for your Word today. How could I live without it? It truly gives me light on my path; strength for each new day. But help me not to be simply a reader; help me apply the truths to my life, walk in your way, and be a true disciple. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Big Attraction
Even miracles don’t automatically lead people to God. Jesus had healed the blind and lame, fed thousands of people with virtually nothing; turned water into wine, he’d raised Lazarus from the dead! What more could he do? Yet, sadly, for unresponsive hearts, no sign or wonder is enough. After all, faith “is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Prayer: Dear Lord, I realize I’m sometimes attracted more to the ‘magic’ or drama of miracles than I am you --- the power and love behind those changes. Draw my attention closer to you, not simply the signs and wonders. Help me ‘see’ through the eyes of faith and trust in you. And then help me share that faith with those I come in contact with today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
