Day 2: Dusty Shoes - A Faith That Moves
Reading: James 2:14-26; Matthew 28:19-20

Devotional: Mental agreement with the Gospel isn't enough—true faith compels movement. James confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: faith without corresponding action is dead. It's not enough to know the stories, memorize the verses, or attend the services. Real faith gets its shoes dirty. It steps out in obedience even when the path is unclear. It moves toward the hurting, the lost, and the broken. Consider your own life: where has your faith taken you lately? Are your shoes dusty from following Jesus into uncomfortable places, or are they pristine from staying in your comfort zone? God isn't calling you to have all the answers; He's calling you to take the next step in trust.

Our July series is going to be something different! The service will look slightly different for the month, too. July services will be a more low-key event.

Be sure you bring your Bible and grab a notes page each week, and come with your own questions as you join us for Pastor's Bible Study!

Day 1: The Posture of Faith
Reading: Romans 15:7; John 13:34-35

Devotional: Faith reveals itself not just in what we believe, but in how we position ourselves toward others. When Jesus commanded us to love one another, He wasn't adding an optional feature to discipleship—He made it the identifying mark. Our posture matters. Are we standing with arms crossed in judgment, or are we extending open arms in welcome? The world is watching how we treat each other, how we respond to the hurting, and how we welcome the outsider. Before we share a single Bible verse, our posture speaks volumes. Today, examine your spiritual posture. Are you positioned to receive and to give? Faith that moves mountains begins with arms that embrace people.

Day 5: Living Faith Outwardly
Reading: 1 John 3:16-24

Devotional: John makes it simple: genuine love requires action, not just words. Saying "I'll pray for you" to someone who's hungry without meeting their need reveals faith that's more theoretical than transformational. Our lives move in the direction of our dominant thoughts—are you focused on what God can do through you or only for you? Spiritual life always shows itself outwardly. When Jesus is truly alive in us, it manifests in how we move, speak, treat others, and trust God. This week, combine both practices: identify someone specific to serve intentionally, and surrender one thing you've been controlling. Let your faith become visible, tangible proof that Christ is alive in you.

Day 4: Serving Without Burnout
Reading: Galatians 6:2-10

Devotional: Service without surrender leads to exhaustion and resentment. When we serve in our own strength while keeping score, bitterness replaces blessing. Paul reminds us to carry each other's burdens while recognizing we cannot do everything for everyone. The key is serving from overflow, not obligation. Rolled up sleeves must accompany open hands—active service flowing from complete trust in God. Are you serving with joy or grudgingly? Are you trying to control outcomes or trusting God with results? This week, evaluate your service. If you're burned out, perhaps you're serving with clenched fists. Let go of expectations. Serve because He first served you, and watch weariness transform into worship.
