I (Pastor Horne) have recently returned from a Mission trip in conjuction with Delaware Ave Baptist Church. We went to San Angelos, TX to help with a rebuild with Samaritans Purse. We were privileged to spend time with the homeowner and her family, to pray with them, and I even purchased an apologetic book for her to use to help the "intellectuality" of certain family members. We did alot of painting, flooring, and installation of a door, but most importanlyt we got to pray over the house and spend time with the family.

You go to bless people, but in reality you leave feeling more blessed than the blessing you gave it seems with every mission trip I take. God is so good.

We want to thank ABCOPAD, Men of Valor, And the AB women's for thier dedication to helping to assist with funding mission trips in the USA and abroad!

P.S. We also had the opportunity to visit a Buc-ees, The Bass Pro Shop Pyramid....and eat some BBQ in Nashville...did I mention God is good!!

A church whose existence, identity and purpose is rooted in the revelation of God in Christ cannot believe that the way of kenosis was taken by the Son of God so that the Church could go another way—the way of individualism and self-interest. Christian ministry is the ministry of Christ as continued through the Church for the sake of the world. Therefore, we dare not limit the notion of self-emptying to a single vicarious act of one on behalf of the many. The ‘law of kenosis’ is intrinsic to the divine life and forms the ontic structure of the community into which persons are called in Christ; the kenotic way of life is the way of community. True community always entails self-emptying, for it can endure in no other way, and apart from community there is no Christian existence.

We are moving through the gospel of Mark. This week's message is 14:10-22....and boy does it speak to you. It comes after the woman who broke the alabaster jar of oil...valued at about a year or so wages, over the head of Christ. Judas, who has been with Jesus sells Him out for 30 pieces of silver.....man this message is about to confront you or encourage you...maybe both...hope to see you Sunday as we continue to get "Marked Up".

Dear God,

You are my Heavenly Father, You created me, You saved me and You made me Your child.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:12-13

You are the only true God...

No one is holy like the Lord ,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.
1 Samuel 2:2

You are my Good Shepherd and You tend to the needs of my heart...

Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Psalm 23:4-6

Today I pray for those who need Your presence in their lives as their loving Heavenly Father.

Some earthly fathers are in heaven, some may not be present or a part of their daughter's and son's lives, others are away from home—traveling for work or military service due to the age or other reasons.

I pray for those who have a father who is absent, and those who long for the love, security, and acceptance a good father gives.

I pray that they will see and recognize You as their "Good Good Father."

Let them come to You and receive You, and love You as their Father-God.

And I know that You love them and You will fill their hearts with Your warm, secure and peaceful presence.

In the powerful name of Jesus I pray,

Amen.
