Founded in 2011, The Lakeshore Model Railroad Association (LMRA) assembled to promote the all scale hobby of model railroading in the Lakeshore area. It is our mission to educate and show first hand basic techniques into the digital era and all aspects of this incredible world known hobby. We market ourselves to inspire youth and adults equally to enjoy and become involved in the Art of Model Rail
roading. The LMRA meets at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church 2320 East Lake Road in
Erie, PA 16511 on the Third (3rd) Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. As of this time, our (Annual) Full Membership Dues are $24.00 per junior (Student), $36.00 per Single (Adult), $60.00 per husband and wife and $72.00 per husband and wife with children membership. We offer one other type of memberships too. The "Boarding Pass" is for the First Time individual who need membership trial in which we offer an exclusive six month membership for $10. The applicant will have full membership benefits but without voting privileges. These Applications are available on this page for review. Today, the club actively supports its mission with the activities such as:
1) COMMUNITY OUTREACH: LMRA stems from Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania. A model railroad is a great way to demonstrate concepts of Leadership, Teamwork, Organization and Education, while sneaking in a history lesson and having fun at the same time. We welcome the opportunity to share our hobby with everyone.
2) WORK SESSIONS: LMRA members have a unique sense of camaraderie to work together on location and help each other with the building and improvement of the LMRA and one's personal layout. We are continually expanding our Exclusive Module Layout for public display at Train Shows and other Public Venues such as schools and Open Houses.
3) FUND RAISING: When we are engaged in a community hobby effort, LMRA support raising funds to help those who help others in need, through Not-For-Profit Organizations.
