Apart From Me You Can Do Nothing
John 5: 19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” verse 30 Jesus repeated, “By Myself I can do nothing.”
Jesus said in John 15: 5-7, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in Me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
Independence from God is equal to destruction! Adam and Eve wanted their independence from God and they lost the Kingdom and the Kingdom authority to subdue the earth. The devil and circumstances of life began to rule their lives. From that time on man began to invent various religions hoping to alleviate the problems of life. Of course, we know that God made a promise to the woman that caused sin to enter the world. The promise from God is in Gen 3:15: “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head, and you will strike His heel.” It took 4000 years of preparation for God to send Jesus the second Adam to bring redemption to mankind.
What distinguishes the second Adam (Jesus) is His submission to the Father. The Father expects His children to follow in the footsteps of Christ. The Lord Jesus came to restore the Kingdom and the authority to mankind. Mt 4: 17. “From that time on Jesus began to preach, Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.’ Luke 4: 43 Jesus said: “I must preach the Kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” Luke 12: 32. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” Also, in Luke 22: 29 “And I bestow upon you a Kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me.” No one can exercise authority apart from God.
