School is back in session - and so is Mission Prep!!!

Where: Stake Center

When: Sundays at 4:00

Who: Seniors in high school

Who else: Those who have recently graduated

Who else: Anybody of age who is considering a mission!

Who else: Even if you’re NOT considering a mission but want to hear about what missions might be like!

Who else: The instructors!! President and Sister Knudsen were recently called to assist Lonnie and Kathleen Steele. They’d all love to see a full house!!!

So - here we go!! Mission Prep Sundays at 4:00. STARTING TODAY!!! Also - FOOD IS GUARANTEED EACH WEEK!! Come and be fed - temporally and spiritually!!

We are looking for original art depicting the Savior for our multi-denominational “Living Christ” Exhibit on March 16. We will be accepting artwork that day at the Erda Stake Center from 10:00 am–Noon; please also prepared an artist’s statement about the piece for display.

The exhibit will be open for viewing from 5-6:00 pm and again from 7:30-8:00 pm that evening. From 6-7:30 pm there will be a multi-denominational concert, with music focused on Christ. Artists will need to pick up their artwork at the close of the event (8 pm).

February 11, 2026 — Shawn M. Johnson has been called as the president of the Erda Utah Stake, succeeding Travis M. Knudsen. He previously served as a High Councilor and Stake Sunday School President. President Johnson works for the Church as an operations executive in the Humanitarian Services division, specializing in procurement/fleet/supply chain management. He and his wife, Anna-Marie, have three children and live in the Stallion Way Ward.

President Johnson is the second to preside over the Erda Utah Stake, which was created in 2015. His counselors are Steven Bruderer of the Rose Springs Ward and Charles English from the Nelson Peak Ward.

FOOD DRIVE ✋🏼 HIGH FIVE!!Thanks to the Stansbury, Grantsville, Tooele West and Erda Stakes for giving so generously to the Tooele Valley’s summer food drive! Join us at our next Stake Conference, Aug. 19-20. 🤎 The Conference will begin with an in-person Leadership Session Saturday at 400 p.m. at the Stake Center. Those invited to attend the Leadership Session include:
Stake High Councilors; Stake Patriarch; Bishoprics (including Clerks and Secretaries); Stake and Ward Relief Society Presidencies; Elders Quorum Presidencies; Stake and Ward Sunday School Presidencies; Stake and Ward Primary Presidencies; Stake and Ward Young Women Presidencies; and Ward Mission Leaders. Please note that secretaries of each organization presidency are invited to attend. 🤎 Adult Session will be Saturday at 7:00 p.m. (18+). We encourage everyone to meet at the Stake Center, streaming will be available; login information will be distributed via email. 🤎 General Session will be Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Again, we encourage you to join us at the stake center, where chairs and viewing options will be arranged throughout the building. A remote option will be available; login information will be distributed via email. While we rejoice in distinctive cultures, we should leave behind aspects of those cultures that conflict with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our members and new converts often come from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds. If we are to follow President [Russell M.] Nelson’s admonition to gather scattered Israel, we will find we are as different as the Jews and Gentiles were in Paul’s time. Yet we can be united in our love of and faith in Jesus Christ. Paul’s Epistle to the Romans establishes the principle that we follow the culture and doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the model for us even today.”

As we prepare to host the Traveling Tabernacle this month, our stake has been asked to provide volunteer support on Friday, June 16. Our YSA Committee is working to gather and train youth volunteers–but there are also some fantastic adult volunteer opportunities, most of which require little to no training.

Available openings for adult volunteers:
🚩Setup/Takedown of Tabernacle: We still need volunteers to set up the tabernacle on Saturday, June 10 and assist with take down on Monday, June 19.  
🚩Greeters: Several volunteers are needed in two- or three-hour shifts, from 9 a.m.–9 p.m.
🚩Medical (must be CPR-certified): On-site support in two- or three-hour shifts, from 9 a.m.–9 p.m.
🚩Hosts & Ushers: Several volunteers are needed in two- or three-hour shifts, from 9 a.m.–9 p.m.
🚩Security: 24-hour security of the facility, in two- or three-hour shifts, from 9 p.m. June 15 to 9 p.m. June 16.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to your ward Relief Society President or Elders Quorum President, or contact Brother Shawn Johnson from the High Council at (801) 419-7903. Volunteer positions and available times will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
