OUR HISTORY
In 1834 several families from North Carolina formed a Presbyterian church on this site and named it Carolina. In 1850 it became a Methodist church and is now one of the oldest Methodist churches in the Alabama-West Florida Conference. Many families and individuals worked diligently and faithfully to see the new church become a reality. For many years Carolina was part of a four churc
h circuit, meeting only once a month. In 1973, services began being held twice each month. In 1975, Carolina became a full time church including several members from other churches on the circuit. The name was changed to Trinity. Since Trinity had a full time pastor, a parsonage was built in 1979. As the church continued to grow more space was needed. In 1985, a fellowship hall with four Sunday School rooms, a nursery, kitchen, pastor’s study and two bathrooms were added. In 1989, the sanctuary was remodeled making space for a choir loft and four extra pews. Trinity has continued to be richly blessed and much has been accomplished with God’s blessings and to His glory. Many new people have come to Trinity and have been a great part in accomplishing the growth and success of the church in a physical way as well as in the spiritual growth. The history of Trinity is filled with instances of faith, dedication, and trust in God and His purpose for us here in the Weoka community. We will continue to seek Christian commitment in growth and service to all people in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We welcome you to be a part of our fellowship and faith.
