Hey Everyone,
We are going to re-vamp our Seminary FACEBOOK page, but in order to do that we will delete this one. In doing so we are going to loose the 128 "friends" we have. We hope that ESPECIALLY the parents of our students will friend us. We are going to have this as an information page, with updates, announcements, and hopefully some informative posts for you. Please watch for the new page next Monday, March 1. FRIEND us and keep up to date and on touch.

Received this message from my brother and thought I’d pass it’s WONDERFUL message on to you as we encourage all our Seminary students and their families to watch/listen to General Conference this weekend.

May this message find all of you sheltered in their places, healthy, happy and ready to receive the word of the Lord this weekend from our modern-day prophets. Their messages will most certainly be the same as their ancient contemporaries: have faith, be humble, be obedient, this too shall pass. From Adam to Noah, from Moses to Peter and Joseph to Brigham, every generation has experienced plagues, famines, pestilence and war. Surely our generation is not immune to Satan's persist effort to fulfill his promises to reign with blood and horror on the Earth. Anciently, Isiah encouraged the people of his generation to shelter in place, both physically to avoid infection and spiritually to build resilience to the corruption that plagues every generation. Isiah 26:20...
Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Please take the time to read or listen to this message from my favorite modern prophet, Bruce R. McConkie.

Parents,
I have been thinking about you lately in this difficult time. You have been asked to do a lot! I can only imagine how difficult it is to juggle work and being multiple kids teachers. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all your efforts. I am not losing sight of just how important the parents are in this educating experience! I appreciate all you do and all your efforts! I am hoping to be of aid right now and if you have any struggles or need any help with our seminary stuff just send your students my way. I can help them through it! Have them contact me through ā€œinboxā€ on their seminary canvas. Or you could even call me! I already miss having your wonderful teenagers in my class and look forward to the day we can gather together again! Love y’all!

Parents and Students,
We live in a unique time. In response to school dismissals Enterprise Seminary will go online. In other words, we will mirror whatever response the high school will take. We are doing this to try to keep it as simple as possible. Here is what you need to know:
1st- We need every student to login to Canvas and make sure that they have access to the learning modules. (Login is their church username and account. The same information they would use to take the assessment on their phone. I have access to usernames but not to passwords. This all needs to be sured up and taken care of by Thursdays first Zoom discussion).
Go to silearn.churchofjesuschrist.org and sign in.
Moving forward these modules will be daily (yes daily. seminary will be an every day thing during this dismissal. My suggestion is that students spend 30 minutes a day doing the modules and discussions instead of 60 minutes every other day. This is meant to be very interactive so that we can maintain connection. The effort is to ensure connection between the students and the Savior, connection between the students and the instructor-bro. Groskreutz, and connection between the students and their peers.
2nd- If you have problems logging in to canvas that could be because you do not have a church username and account. They are simple to make, all you need is your MRN (membership record number). Either myself or a ward clerk can aid in getting this information. Contact me ASAP.
3rd- There is a discussion that I need the students to respond to. They should respond to the prompt and then to at least one peer. They should refrain from posts like, "got it" or "ditto". Give some original thoughts. Speak in complete sentences, ask questions, etc. I have access to every comment made on these threads and will follow them, adding my two cents every now and then. Try to create a discussion. You will get out of it what you put into it.
4th- There will be ZOOM meetings every week on either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on whether it is an A week or a B week for your student. I will keep you informed on which one you will be asked to be a part of that week. These are subject to change depending on what the High School is doing with their schedule and in that event I will keep you informed as soon as reasonably possible.
5th- Most students have been kept in the same classes as they were in before the dismissal with a couple handfuls of adjustments. Please be aware of what "Group" you are in. This can be accessed by going to "People" tab on the home screen and then "groups" tab. I have then ordered according to classes. B1 being first period on B day. If there are any problems with these please let me know. I can easily move students around for real concerns. Please refrain from asking me to move students just because they want to be in a ZOOM session with their friend. But if a real concern happens please let me know and we can make a change.
6th- All of Sister Clove's students will now be in one of my classes. She has some family matters that will/have taken her away for a period of time. It was easiest for us to move forward in this way for now. Sister Clove is still a seminary teacher and will be helping us when we resume class as usual this year/next year whenever that will be. This is a temporary change to allow Sister Clove to be with her family and take care of their needs. That being said all students who had Sister Clove have been dispersed throughout my other classes. Please check which period I have assigned you to. If this does not work please let me know.
7th- I appreciate all of you! Please Please PLEASE help me spread the word on this. Social media posts, conversations that you have with other parents, etc. Please tell others about this. There are a fair amount of my students who I have no email access to. Your help is needed!!
I know the work of the Lord will continue to roll forward. I have had one prevailing thought through the crazy times we live in. It is this: all of this change happens so quickly. It seems as though we are being updated every hour on new adjustments from the world and the government. All of this uncertainty and change causes a lot of fear and anxiety. And rightfully so. Not knowing can cause some real struggles. As I have pondered on all this, and catching myself feeling fear, anxiety and despair creep in the Lord gave me a very empowering and encouraging reminder. "I am the same yesterday, today and forever" and "In Him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing". As we experience all these changes may we not fear or despair. God is at the helm. Because He is unchanging we can forever put our faith and trust in Him. He is constant and kind and those qualities make Him the person we can always trust and rely on. He is one who grants peace and I have been so grateful for His kind reminders to me that He has it under control. If you have questions PLEASE get a hold of me. Text or calls are the best. If I don't answer your call please shoot me a text or leave a voicemail and I will get back to you as soon as I can. 435-840-1589.
God is good!

ā€œParents and students,
What a spring break it has been! Thank you for your patience as we work through some very unique circumstances. It is not surprising that the work of the Lord will still move forward and that includes His seminary program. We will follow a similar plan as what the district has been informing you on. We are still working out some of the details but we are expecting to hold at least one, possibly two online classes a week. These will be forty minute sessions and the platform we are planning on using is Zoom. Please remember that all the requirements to graduate seminary still apply. 1) Read the required reading from the Book of Mormon (just follow the come follow me readings). 2) Pass the assessments (we will still administer an assessment in the beginning of May). 3) 75% attendance.
We are currently attempting to set up Canvas so we can maneuver this change more fluidly. There will be additional information to come shortly! Thank you for your patience! Live by faith, not fear! Love y’all!

Hey everyone! With the resent announcement of cancelled meeting until further notice, we thought we’d post two General Conference prep study guides we have offered to the kids. If you are interested in getting them to use in your home based study, have them stop be the Seminary office, or request here. I will be glad to copy them off for you or provide you with the links.
