Your Knights of Columbus assembly and religious education students invite the parish to the annual Living Rosary, Sunday, October 25th starting 10:30 am, at the Marian Grotto, located between the Church and Parish office. Parish military flight students will lead the Glorious Mysteries. Father, Deacon, the Ladies Guild, LifeTeen & Edge, Sunday School Grades 2-5, and other education ministries will comprise the rest of the rosary. In case of inclement weather, we will be in the St John Hall. Please pray for a beautiful fall morning!

Our Parish Fall Festival will be held this Sunday, October 18th following the combined bilingual 10:00am Mass.

Pope Leo XIV underwent thoracic surgery at Gemelli Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, as planned, according to a statement from Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora released by the Holy See Press Office.

The surgeons removed the lower lobe of the Pope’s right lung, and tissue examined during the operation confirmed the diagnosis of “lung adenocarcinoma,” as suspected from tests conducted beforehand.

The Pope was in the operating room approximately three hours, while the operation itself lasted about 90 minutes. The doctors said it was successful and there were no complications.

Pope Leo awoke normally after surgery and, following a brief period of observation, returned to his room on the hospital’s 10th floor, according to the statement.

Cake and/or baked goods donations are needed for the Fall Festival Cake Walk on October 18th. Please drop your donations off the morning of the event in St. John Hall prior to 10:00 am. If you need to bring your donation(s) prior to Sunday, please contact Kat above.

Ladies Guild is requesting Bingo prize donations. Please drop off at the office in box provided. We request gently used items such as kitchen items, home decor, artwork, religious items, children and adult games, jewelry, gift certificates, free entertainment/dinner tickets, and books. (Please no clothing or shoes.)

Pray for Pope Leo as he undergoes surgery this week.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bea Maria Fritz. Fr. Zach will celebrate a funeral Mass for Bea Fritz on Tuesday, October 13 at 11 AM at St. John Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10:15-10:45 AM in the church vestibule before the Mass. Burial will take place immediately following the Mass at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Coffee Springs.
