1-25-2026:
Good morning but not from Lake Clark. It is a cold January Sunday morning. According to the weather channel the temp is 16 and feels like zero here in Ennis. In Matthew 24:12 Jesus said, “and because lawlessness (wickedness) is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” Jesus was referencing the fact that people would become discouraged and frustrated because of the world situation, even personal difficulties and would lose sight of the hope that brings life and their heart toward God’s truth and love would become cold or hard, indifferent. I got a text message yesterday to pray for someone in Chicago area because of some physical situations they were dealing with and also because the temperature there was going to be 35 below zero. I’m sure there are some of you who are familiar with the temperature being that cold, those who are from the north. But when it’s cold, we wrap ourselves up to protect ourselves from the elements. People go into a place of self preservation when they are challenged with the journey of life, with difficulties, frustrations, hurts, disappointments, and many different things. And because sometimes they feel like God has abandoned or is not listening to prayers, so people attempt to preserve, or save themselves by their own means. And our hearts can grow cold. I think most people have struggled with seasons of doubt and fear, and even discouragement, but we must guard our hearts and minds. The enemy is relentless to defeat us. But we must embrace and hold to the love of God with all that’s in us and hold to His promise that He is ever faithful And that he never leaves us, nor forsakes us. On this cold day, be encouraged because God does love us, He does see us and He is faithful, working all things for our good. Every part and activity of life comes in seasons. Hold fast in your time of challenge, in this season to the never falling love of God.

Pastors paragraph for Sunday January 18, 2026:
Greetings on this Lords day. “The Lord bless you, and keep you; the Lord cause His face to shine on you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His face to you, and give you peace.” The Lord never changes. In His nature, and in His commitment to His promise, to His word, He does not alter, nor waver. James speaks to the man of faith in his letter to the church, writing that he who believes practices his faith without wavering, without vacillating, but holding true and steady. The man of faith is not blown about by different persuasions or ideas that may come his way. He holds steady to the path that honors, pleases God and blesses people. It is true that our pursuit on this earth should be ‘to be like’ Jesus. But we must pattern our admissions and practices according to the biblical Jesus, not the one created according to our own desires or likes. When we admit the truth of Scripture, or the nature of Jesus, and we attempt to modify that/Him to fit our own image, or to our own fleshly desires, we have created or redesigned Something/ Someone that was/is TRUE to something/someone that is not true. We attempt to make something of merit to something that is not of merit. Simply put if truth is truth then we embrace it and live it. Because if we change it to fit our own understanding or likes, it then can no longer be true. God‘s word stands on its own merit, on its own truth, because it is God breathed. It is His own word, His own standard and it remains forever, and will not perish. That for us in reality is a sure foundation, a living hope. God’s Word is a lamp and light for our feet and path. Let God be God and His word always be true. We do not need to edit, nor can we improve upon the living Word of God.

Blessings, Pastor Darrell Nelson

Pastors paragraph for Sunday July 7, 2024:
Greetings on this Lords day. Today on this Sunday, July 7, 2024 we are a week past half of the year. Today is day 189. Today at 11:00 am we have already lived 4,523 hours, 271, 380 minutes and 16,282,800 seconds for the year of 2024. The Bible tells us our life is but a v***r. Life may not be long, but remember, our lifetime tenure here is compared with eternity which has no end. It would be totally impossible to calculate the days, hours, minutes and seconds of all time including eternity. I suspect that when we get to heaven, our hearts and minds and focus will be fully on Jesus and what He has for us to do when we get to be with Him. There will be no more heartache, no sorrow, no pain, no disappointment, no loneliness, no sickness, no darkness and no sin and lots of other no-mores. 1 John 3:2-3 reads, “beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him, purifies himself, just as He is.” The daily goal for us should be to separate ourselves from this world, and to be pleasing to our Lord every moment to walk in His righteousness. “Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord, for He is holy.” So let us spend our valuable time in walking with Jesus, and keeping ourselves pure in honor of Him. I have shared this with you before, but my grandmother used to say, “yard by yard life is very hard; inch by inch life is a cinch.” Our victory is won by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Our testimony is that Jesus is gracious, good and faithful. No one wants us to succeed more than He does and no one wants us to get the best out of each second of our life than He does. Jesus is life! Blessings

Pastor’s Paragraph:
Greetings on this Lords day. On Good Friday, we contemplated our Lord’s death, His sacrifice for the sins of the world. All who believe in their heart God raised Jesus from the dead, repent of their sin and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord shall be saved. Scripture tells us in several places that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments, do His will.
Being saved, born again, has really nothing to do with religion, thoughts, perspectives, ideals, etc. It has to do with God’s grace being extended to those who humble themselves and repent, turn away from their sin, and turn toward God. “By grace you have been saved through faith and not of yourselves, lest any man should boast.” We contribute nothing to the action God took to save us. But by faith we can receive His gift by grace.
Meditate on the seven statements or sayings of Jesus on the cross.
“Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Lu 23:34
“Truly, I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43
“Woman, behold, your son!” “Behold, your mother!” John 19:26-27
“I am thirsty.” John 19:28
“Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani? My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”
Mark 15:34, Matthew 27:46
“It is finished!” Jn 19:30
“Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Luke 24:46
The history of the world has this very important parenthetical event marked on the calendar BC and AD. Before Christ, that is His brief life and ministry and anno Domini which is the day of our Lord. He is real. He really lived. He really died. He really rose. He really ascended and He is really coming back. It is soon. Are you ready? Sincerely, pastor Darrell Nelson

Pastor’s paragraph for March 24, 2024.
Greetings on this Lords day. Someone shared earlier today about the passage, “this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.” It’s a great verse. That scripture can help renew our focus when things can seem out of control. When we remind ourselves that the Lord is in control, we can walk in peace and confidence, knowing He is faithful. Another scripture is found in Matthew chapter 7 that reads, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” We are really not responsible for the actions, attitudes, and behaviors of others, but we are responsible for our own. The Bible says, “we reap what we sow.” Another common saying is ‘what goes around comes around.‘ Truly if we want others to be kind and fair to us, we must choose to treat others the way we want to be treated. Things happen in life and people do the things that people do at times, and at times life simply is not fair. But we can rest assured that God is just and fair, and that “vengeance belongs to our God.” The fruit of the spirit gives witness to God’s Spirit being in us and influencing us. “Love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, temperance and self control.” These are not suggestions, they are characteristics of God’s spirit. Jesus’ redeeming grace and power provides for us and works in us His divine nature. It is not that we are called to just be a good influence in this world, but we are equipped by God to ‘influence change.’ God bless. Pastor Darrell Nelson.

Pastor’s paragraph for 2/25/2024:
Greetings on this Lords day. The scriptures reveal to us, that Jesus‘s ministry was wide spread, especially geographically. He did minister in the synagogues and in the towns, as well as in the countryside. There were several times Jesus ministered on the shore of Galilee Where he often got in one of the fishing boats, and went out a ways so He would be able to speak to the crowds better. Jesus certainly set the example for us that ministry goes way beyond the walls of a church building. The scripture reads in Hebrews 10:23-25 “ let us hold fast the confession of our hope, without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.”
I will submit, it seems the government and Covid gave permission to miss church and now many are still staying out. There is great value in the corporate worship, as it provides the means for fellowship, praying for each other, teaching and encouraging one another and worshiping together. The corporate worship setting gives us the opportunity to share our testimony, to stimulate and encourage one another to hold fast to the faith, because Jesus is coming soon. There is a work for the church to do. We must seek ways to share the gospel and to lift the name of Jesus wherever we are. As we serve, and work in our communities, on our jobs, at school, etc, we need to let our light shine, as well as in corporate worship. Blessings, Pastor.

Pastors Paragraph,
Greetings on this Lords day. How wonderful it is for God’s people to dwell together in unity. Let us seek oneness with each other as we grow in our faith and trust in the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The scriptures speak often, and in detail about Faith. The scripture says Abraham believed God and God imputed righteousness to him. And Ephesians 2:8-9 “for by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, lest any man should boast.” Our salvation comes about as we place our confidence and trust in the truth that Jesus died on the cross, bearing upon Himself the punishment for our sin. When we repent and confess our sin before God He forgives us our sins, and cleanses us from all unrighteousness, and He clothes us with His own righteousness through Jesus Christ. Jesus teaches in Luke 16 powerful word pictures of the value and necessity of being faithful. Jesus tells about a Wealthy man, who had a manager that was less than diligent. The owner called him to give account of his actions. Immediately the manager called for those who owed his master their debts and he commanded that they bring a portion of their payment right away, so he could give to the owner. The owner was very pleased that the manager had acted so wisely and praised him. Jesus said, “he who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much.” Luke 16:10 Being faithful is a spiritual discipline which we must continually get better at. We are not saved by works, but James writes that our works show our faith. True believers will be faithful in deed and in truth, not only in word. May we set our hearts, our minds, and our hands to be faithful. Jesus is worthy that we practice faithfulness. He himself is the pure and perfect example for faithfulness. Jesus fully and completely did what the Father desired and what the Holy Spirit led Him to do. Dear God quicken our hearts and minds, and help us to set ourselves to be diligent in our faith to please and obey you.
Blessings, Pastor Darrell Nelson

Pastor’s paragraph for this week:
Good morning on this first Sunday of February 2024. It is amazing how quickly days and time come and go. The positive to all of the quickness of time is that we are getting closer to the return of Christ. I want to submit to you this morning something that we must not overlook or take lightly. That is our preparation or readiness for the day of Jesus‘s return. No one knows the day nor the hour except the Father. The Bible says no one can see God without being holy. Interestingly, we cannot make ourselves holy. But God in His great grace and mercy has provided the means for our salvation through the blood of Jesus.
It is the sacrifice of Jesus that washes away and cleanses us from all our sins. It is no small thing that we place our faith in the person and action of Jesus Christ. Believing on Jesus and repenting of our sin is not just a religious idea. It is the means and plan of God for us that we might come into a redeemed and restored relationship with Him. He makes us holy. We are to be holy unto the Lord, by the Lord, for the Lord. Scripture calls us to humble ourselves, to repent turning from our sin to the holiness of God. Then we are to live holy unto Him, allowing His Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, to keep our lives, our hearts and minds, on the path that pleases Him. The enemy of our soul does not want us to be successful in living holy, but remember Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Jesus overcame the world, and as we abide in Him and His word abides or remains in us we will overcome the world through his blood. Keep the faith and joyfully press on. God is for us. Love and blessings.
