We are pleased to announce the first Precious Blood (Missionaries) Student Essay contest! ✍🏼📄

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood U.S. Province invites high school and undergraduate college students to share an original essay reflecting on reconciliation and vocation through the lens of Precious Blood spirituality.
This year’s topic:
Every vocation as a call to heal.
Whether one is called to family life, professional work, or ministry, every vocation can contribute to healing the world. How do you envision using your gifts and education to be a force for reconciliation?
Winners receive cash prizes:
First: $1,000; Second: $500; Third: $250; and will be featured in the spring 2027 issue of Missionary Pulse and on our social media channels.

In the Office of Readings for today we find these words: “Today the Virgin is born, tended and formed, and prepared for her role as Mother of God, who is the universal King of the ages. Therefore, let all creation sing and dance and unite to make worthy contribution to the celebration of this day. Today this created world is raised to the dignity of a holy place for him who made all things. The creature is newly prepared to be a divine dwelling place for the Creator.”

Join us at St Rita on Saturday, September 12 at 4:30 pm for the annual "Blue Mass" to honor and pray for our police officers, firefighters and first responders, and in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the 911 tragedy.👮🏻‍♀️👨🏻‍🚒⛑️

🔑Key Details of the Blue Mass Origin: The tradition in the United States began in 1934 in Washington, D.C., as a way to pray for the safety of law enforcement officers and remember fallen comrades.

🅿️The Color Blue: The name comes from the characteristic blue-colored uniforms predominantly worn by police and other public safety agencies.

⏱️Timing: Many communities hold the service in September around the feast day of St. Michael the Archangel, the traditional patron saint of police officers and safety personnel (September 29).

🙏🏻Activities: Services often include blessing emergency vehicles, bagpipes, honor guards, and reading the names of personnel who died in the line of duty during the previous year.
