Centennial Lutheran Church

Centennial Lutheran Church Worship with us in-person every Sunday at 9 a.m. with fellowship hour after. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

This means if you're looking for somewhere to ask questions, learn, grow in faith, hear a Word of love and hope, then you should come by and stay awhile. We welcome all people as God's beloved children!

In our world with constant noise from many sources, Good Friday is a good time to make time to experience the richness of silence. Take some slow, deep breaths. God is in the silence where there is only breath. Here is a prayer from this week's synod email for today:
O God, be our companion as we travel these holy days.
Be our host at the meal, our guide at the crossroads,
our protection in danger, our breath all along the way,
and our hope at the tomb. Amen

Reading the story of Christ's passion from John 18 and 19 brings home to us the profound effects of Jesus' sacrifice. In today's video devotion, Karen is our reader, Cliff is the singer, and Roberta provides a meditative prelude to prepare us for the story.

Our worship for New Years Day may have some stories that don't seem very Christmas-y in the early life of Jesus, but the season is still alive with us. Pastor Ron navigates for us and leads us in Holy Communion. He also tests our Christmas knowledge with a trivia quiz! Karen and Dianne sing our anthem "Hidden as a Baby" and lead us in two carols. Louise is our reader. Our Sharing of Pictures shows pictures of our December festivities.
We hope to see you back at Centennial next Sunday, January 8 at 9AM!

When Christmas Day is on Sunday, it's hard to make all the festivities and family expectations fit into a schedule. We hope you can worship with us at your convenience. We wish you a blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord!

There will NOT be a live service at Centennial Lutheran today, or on January 1. Regular 9 a.m. worship will resume on January 8 with the Epiphany service.

For today, Bill is the reader. Our cantor choir leads the hymns and sing the anthem, "Sing Noel." Pastor Ron Powers delivers the sermon and presides at Holy Communion, so you may want to gather your bread and wine or juice beforehand. Linda sings "Gesu Bambino."

Our final mid-week devotion for Lent! "Open our lives, Lord!" The scriptures are Micah 6: 6-8 and Deuteronomy 30:15-20, simple but profound instructions on how to live.

Join us for Palm/Passion Sunday service this Sunday, April 10. Next week is Holy Week with a virtual Good Friday service April 15 and, of course, Easter service on April 17 at 9 a.m. Hope to see you there!

Our devotions for Lent have been about opening ourselves to God. We pray to open our eyes, our hands, our ears, and today our hearts. "Open our Hearts, Lord!"
The scriptures are Psalm 28: 6-9 and John 13: 33-35. Bill is the reader for this devotion, Dianne is the cantor, and Roberta is our pianist. Today we include a table grace sung to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."
