Did you know that some of the greatest cathedrals in Europe have labyrinths built right into their floors?

At FPCE, we have two - one outside and one inside. And our confirmation students helped clean the outside one this year!

The labyrinth is a walking meditation - one of the oldest spiritual practices in Christianity. No doctrine. No puzzle to solve. No right or wrong way to experience it.

Just you, a path, and whatever you bring to it.

For some of us, the body leads the spirit. Movement IS prayer. Walking IS contemplation.

If you’ve been looking for a church that goes deeper than Sunday morning… that takes spiritual practice seriously AND creatively… we’d love to have you walk with us.

“If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well.”

She was ritually unclean. She broke the law. She was desperate.

Jesus didn’t pull away.

This Sunday Rich preached on one of the most radical ideas in the Gospels, that acceptance comes before change. That love is unconditional FIRST. That the purpose of every rule is to move us closer to God’s unconditional, generous, unwavering love.

There’s a word for that in Hebrew. Hesed.

And it means: I’ll love you first. Even if you don’t change.

If you’ve ever felt like you had to earn your place at the table before someone would accept you… this message was for you.

Most of us were never taught that doubt and faith can coexist.

Pastor Rich opened Matthew 28:15-20 this Sunday where the disciples worshipped AND doubted. At the same time. Jesus gave them the mission anyway.

Because faith was never about certainty. It was always about identity.

When you root yourself in who you are as a follower of Christ, the decisions get clearer. The love gets bigger. The world gets a little less overwhelming.

“I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

That’s not a promise for perfect people. That’s a promise for all of us.

Ten years ago, Felicia walked into a church that was rebuilding after a fire.

She brought innovation, energy, and a love for families that has never wavered.

She was the first teacher for so many of our children - including some who are now being confirmed. She started parent and teen nights. She created spaces where teenagers could ask hard questions and families could find their footing in faith.

And somewhere along the way, she made all of us better.

In her own words: “Our families are warm, inclusive, diverse and welcoming. If you’re looking for a church like that, explore our church.”

That’s Felicia. That’s FPCE.

If you’ve been looking for a faith community where your whole family is genuinely welcomed - not just tolerated - this is it.

Ten years and counting. Happy anniversary Felicia. 💛

What if the thing that makes you different is exactly what God had in mind?

This Sunday, Pastor Rich opened Acts 2:1-21 - the story of Pentecost - and turned what sounds like chaos into one of the most radical statements in scripture.

The Holy Spirit shows up. Everyone starts speaking in different languages. The crowd’s response? “They must be drunk.”

We do that, don’t we? When something is too extraordinary, too outside the box, too different from what we expect… we shrink it down. We make it ordinary. We make it a problem.

But Peter says: this is exactly what God foretold.

“Your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams.”

God’s activity rarely looks like what we expect. And you never know through whom God will speak.

The outsider. The different one. The one who never quite fit in their old church.

That’s God’s plan.

If you’ve been told you’re too much, too complicated, too different for church… we’d love to meet you.
