Bible Study

On Sunday morning we have been looking at Common Deceptions we hear people speak about when it comes to God’s word. I thought I would share.

DECEPTION:
THE BIBLE IS TOO HARD TO UNDERSTAND

Really it it is more that man has become so busy that they do not study like they should. In Acts 17:11 the Thessalonians received the word with all readiness, but it didn’t stop there, they searched the scriptures daily to make sure what they were being told was truth. We are also commanded in 2 Timothy 2:-15 to study to show thyself approved unto God. We do this to make sure what we are doing or being told scripturally is correct.

It is irresponsible to just take any man’s word for what we hear from scripture. We need to study! God word is simple to understand if we search for his truth.

God is not the author of confusion
1 Corinthians 14:33. His truth is the same for all men. God will not give someone one truth and another person a different truth. For this reason we can only go to one source for our guidance, God’s inspired word, the Bible. We abide in his word to know the truth, which this truth will make us free John 8:31-32.

We understand when we read Ephesians 3:4.
Ephesians 5:17 says, Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (KJV)

It is our responsibility to understand God’s word. We should search daily to know truth. When any man is speaking God’s word, we should make sure it is in line with scripture.
We should also not be deceived that the Bible is too hard to understand. God tells us this is not so. I hope that we all strive to know God’s word and live it. Understanding is easy if we are willing to work for it.
