VBS Families (Youth, Teens, Grown-up Teens and Youthful Adults),
It is bittersweet that I announce that after eight life-changing years at VBS, I have decided to take on a new opportunity at Milken Community School as their Director of Service Learning starting August 2024.
Please rest assured that I will continue to be very involved at VBS and the VBS Youth Department over the next several months or more. As the developer and leader of Camp ViBeS, I will be staying on-board, still driving one of the vans and managing the entire camp for this summer.
While I'm excited to jump into a new position and start a new chapter in my book, this decision wasn't an easy one to make. Valley Beth Shalom has been more like a home than my own home(s) the last eight years.
VBS helped me re-discover my Jewish identity and anchor my passion in youth programming and development. The relationships I have built with countless families, clergy, and staff will forever have an imprint on my heart.
Teens: As I have done since I first started volunteering for Jewish Youth groups in 2010, I will forever be a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen to, and a mouth to relentlessly converse with. I promise to take midnight calls while you're complaining about your college dorm roommate, write letters of recommendation to your first employer, send flowers for your upcoming nuptials and meet you for coffee when you're in town.
This is not goodbye, just see ya later!
You may continue to communicate with me at my VBS email until
August 9: [email protected].
Todah Chaverim!

A Message From Rabbi Lebovitz and Matt Weintraub
Dear VBS Community,
We want to wish Cam continued success in the next chapter of her career. Over the past eight years she has stewarded the VBS Youth Department, with programs and events for Grades K-12, into its current innovative and supportive department. She has developed Camp ViBeS to teach our teens that service and fun are two essential components of living a life of meaning. She has poured her heart and soul into the VBS Youth Department.
While we will miss Cam, we are grateful that she will remain with Camp ViBeS through the Summer and be a part of our community. Milken Community School is fortunate to be gaining Cam. She is an asset to the Jewish community.
We all wish Cam, best of luck – B’Hatzlacha!
Rabbi Nolan Lebovitz, Senior Rabbi
Matt Weintraub, Executive Director
