Let's celebrate that June 19th, 1865 was the date, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed, and two months after the Civil War ended, when the people in the far flung rebelling state of Texas finally heard the news that they were free. Juneteenth is the perfect prelude to the American Independence Day coming soon when we will celebrate the ideal - still growing and unfolding - that... “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.”

Love is the self-livingness of the Spirit through the desire of Life to express Itself in terms of creation. Emerson tells us that Love is a synonym for God. We are also told in the New Testament that "He that liveth not, knowers not God: for God is Love." Love is free from condemnation, even as it is free from fear. Love is a cosmic force whose sweep is irresistible.
