We want to gently remind our parishioners that while Sunday Mass is a holy obligation for Catholics, the Church recognizes that there are times when attending Mass may not be possible.

Church law excuses parishioners from the Sunday obligation when there is a grave cause, such as unsafe travel due to severe weather, illness, lack of transportation, or the care of others. In these circumstances, you are not sinning by remaining at home.

Our 11am and 12:30pm Masses will continue as planned this weekend. However, parishioners should decide based on the guidance of the Church and their particular situation. When attendance at Mass is not possible, the Church encourages setting aside time on Sunday for prayer, either individually or as a family, to honor the Lord’s Day.

Queremos recordar amablemente a nuestros feligreses que, aunque la Misa dominical es un momento sagrado para los católicos, la Iglesia entiende que hay ocasiones en las que asistir a la Misa puede no ser posible.

La Iglesia permite que los feligreses se ausenten de la Misa dominical cuando existe una razón seria, como viajar de manera insegura por clima severo, enfermedad, falta de transporte o cuidado de otras personas. En estas situaciones, no están pecando al quedarse en casa.

Las Misas programadas de 11am y 12:30pm se celebrarán con normalidad este fin de semana. Sin embargo, cada persona debe decidir según la guía de la Iglesia y su propia situación. Cuando no sea posible asistir a Misa, la Iglesia anima a dedicar un tiempo el domingo para la oración, ya sea individualmente o en familia, para honrar el Día del Señor.
