Have you signed up for a Listening Session yet?
The next step in the Archdiocesan Restructuring process is for every parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit to host two parish listening sessions per parish. These sessions will give you the opportunity to review the models developed by our priests and to share your feedback on the proposed pastorates. Your feedback may include what works or does not work in each model, additional context about your community, or possible collaboration points between parishes. After feedback is gathered from every parish, models may be revised. Ultimately, Archbishop Weisenburger will prayerfully discern the refined models before determining the future structure of the Archdiocese, which will take effect beginning in July 2027.
Our parish listening sessions will be:

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel: June 9 and 11 from 7pm to 9pm
Sacred Heart: June 15 and 17 from 7pm to 9pm

Registration is required. You can register at https://www.cognitoforms.com/ArchdioceseOfDetroit2/ParishListeningSessionRegistration

We are now approximately two-thirds of the way through parish listening sessions across the Archdiocese of Detroit. We are grateful to all who have participated and shared their voices in this important process of prayerful discernment for the future of our local Church.

Models will continue to be released on a rolling basis, and those who have attended a session are encouraged to review the models and provide feedback at restructuring.aod.org. If you have not yet attended, registration for upcoming listening sessions remains available at restructuring.aod.org.

You are welcome to come out and play some cards with your fellow parishioners at our May 30th Euchre party in the OLMC Hall at 6:00pm. We are offering a free will donation taco/nacho bar for dinner for both card players and non-card players from 6:00-6:45pm. A $10 entry fee will be collected to play in the tournament (prizes will be awarded). The Euchre tournament will begin at roughly 6:45 after dinner. Bring extra quarters as we will have a “euchre jar” circulating the tables for each time you
are euchred. We will have other games for non-euchre players to play. Please come out to have some fun with your local Squires Circle #4771.

A Prayer for Memorial Day

"Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them."

Heavenly Father, Almighty God,

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. In Your infinite mercy, look kindly upon these fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom and justice.

We lift up our prayers to You today:

For the Deceased Servicemen and Women: Bring them into Your heavenly kingdom, where there is no more sorrow, pain, or warfare. May they find eternal rest in Your divine presence.

For Gold Star Families: Through the intercession of Our Lady of Sorrows, bring comfort and consolation to the parents, spouses, children, and siblings who carry the heavy cross of grief.

For Our Nation: Grant us the grace to never take our freedoms for granted. Guide our leaders in the ways of peace, and help us to live lives worthy of the great sacrifices made on our behalf.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.
