From the Bishop regarding Bellwether Farm fire:

March 4, 2023

Dear colleagues and friends,

At approximately 2 o’clock this morning, a fire broke out in the Animal Barn at Bellwether Farm. In spite of the Wakeman Fire Department’s immediate response, given the windy night, it burned to the ground very quickly. Fortunately, no staff, guests, or firefighters were injured. The majority of livestock survived; sadly, ten sheep and the two cows perished. Four neighboring fire departments joined Wakeman in responding and kept all the other structures in the barnyard safe.

I am profoundly grateful to the staff for their alertness and quick action, and to the extraordinary work of the first responders led by Chief David Wilson, Assistant Chief Sean Eschen, and Mayor Chris Hipp. By the time I arrived at 3:30, the last few standing vertical timbers were being pushed down to extinguish any remaining embers.

The loss of livestock is always heartbreaking, but we can be thankful that all else can and will be replaced.

With every blessing,

The Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Jr.
Bishop of Ohio

Hello Everyone June 10, 2021

Council has reviewed the current policies on COVID-19 restrictions and has made the following decisions:
1. Masks are optional. Be advised that the CDC recommends non-vaccinated people continue to wear masks.
2. Communion-Communion may be received in two ways.
a. You may receive communion at the altar, given by Pastor and a Council Member, consisting of wine and a wafer. Pastor and the council member giving communion will wear masks and gloves, or you may bring a prepackaged communion kit to the altar with you.
b. You may continue to receive communion in your seat with a prepackaged kit. The prepackaged kits will be available in a basket as you enter the sanctuary. There will be a place in the service for you to receive communion.
3. Sharing of the Peace- We will continue to share the peace by remaining in our pews and waving or giving peace signs as we have been doing.
4. Hymnals- You may use a hymnal if you would like to do so. There will also be preprinted hymns and papers to use if you would prefer to do that. The preprinted papers will be on the table in the Narthex.

Please be considerate of those who may wish to continue to social distance.
Services will continue to be livestreamed on Facebook, or recorded and posted later.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Council President
