Public Reading of Scripture Each Tuesday from 4–5PM at the Whiteside Bandshell

This happened spontaneously last week: Some came and asked to read their favorite Passages of Scripture. A dear couple even sung one Scripture portion.

We had a 6-fold increase over our debut: from 2 to 12 people. And more importantly God was sweetly present.

It truly is more than the sum of the parts.

Public Reading of Scripture! Tuesdays from 4–5PM at the Whiteside Bandshell.

"Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching." (1 Timothy 4:13). We'll just be doing the reading part, but glad to visit with any so wishing. We are in early Genesis and have a large print Bible from which to read. Any of goodwill desiring to do so may simply show up and read a chapter or few.

Yes, it is during the Farmer's Market. Please know, however, though present enough to be noticed, yet we are quiet enough not to drown out vendor tables. Moreover, we picked our time so as not to conflict with the show tunes or city band.

We were mostly voices crying in the wilderness, but had a few clusters stop by to listen to God's Word and pray concerning the fires. Odd evening but still strangely satisfying indeed!

PUBLIC READING OF SCRIPTURE (& Prayer Regarding the Fires)

We are doing a soft launch tonight of public reading of Scripture from the Whiteside bandshell apropos 1 Timothy 4:13: "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture,..." All of goodwill are welcome to read a chapter or few. And regarding the present circumstances we'll also welcome public prayers related to the fires. Bless

PS. We will be respectful of the Farmer's Market and stop when the City Band plays.

I find this the best fire-info source. #1. The daily 7-10 min. video update w/ map visual aid. #2. The daily written briefing covers size, weather, ready-set-go system, sciency stuff, etc. #3. Notices of community meetings. Mercy O Lord!

This Sunday, June 14th, will be our first church picnic of the summer! Come to Stan and Joyce Passananti’s home (contact us for the address) anytime after 12 PM. Please bring a dish or two to share, plus lawn chairs and towels if you’d like to swim. The grill will be going if anyone wants to bring meat to BBQ! We will provide water and sparkling water to drink. If you’d like any other beverages, feel free to bring them.

Save the date for the next two church picnics on July 12 at Rock Ridge and August 9 at Gayle Meskill’s. Please contact Pastor Tim if you’d like to be baptized.
