Carry The Load, in partnership with the National Cemetery Administration (NCA) U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Complex, are organizing the 2026 National Day of Service & Remembrance at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Today we remember Philip D Edwards, laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Complex in Section 18 Site 1384. Submitted by his wife Gemma and daughter Gabby. Gabby had this to say about her dad:

We Will Meet Again

My father, Philip Dean Edwards, was a man whose life was defined by service, both to his country and to his community. As a Specialist in the U.S. Army who proudly served during the Persian Gulf War and Desert Storm, he carried the values of discipline and dedication into everything he did. Beyond his military honors, his true legacy was felt in the neighborhoods we called home; he had a servant’s heart and never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need. Though he is deeply missed, I see his spirit live on in the way I strive to care for those around me, honoring the path of kindness and courage he paved. We will meet again.
