Friends, as you heard in worship a couple weeks ago, the Trustees have been working for four years gathering info and getting bids for creating a media booth in the back to get the tables and cords out from the front. In addition, we became aware of damage to the steeple and that our front doors don't meet current safety standards for public spaces. Work began today with Billy Collins' team removing the rotted louvers in the steeple and the animals who found their way in but not out again.RIP. New ones that will keep out more water and critters will be installed. Doors that open out with a crash bar are being built. Work began inside also to prep for media booth space and to enhance the chancel area. Change is not easy but we're trying to preserve the historic aspects of the church while also preparing for another 20 plus years of ministry. We will not be able to meet in the sanctuary for at least two Sundays. We will worship in the fellowship hall.

If you get a chance, read 1 Samuel chapters 9&10 before worship Aug 30 at 9:30am. We're finishing up our sermon series about some of the Old Testament characters that God chose to work through even when they didn't think they were ready or worthy. Next month we're highlighting some of the prophets God used to speak timeless truths.

Every year we ask parents/guardians to complete an annual permission form with emergency information for our children and youth who participate in any activities through the church whether it is Sunday School, youth outings, or other special events. Here is the link to complete for 2026-27 school year if you have children or grandchildren who will be involved with EUMC events. I know the start of the school year has a lot of forms, but we're trying to be prepared and keep kids safe. Thank you for helping us.

Also tonight, God's House of Ministry will be leading prayer at 6pm beginning at the Elsberry elementary school building to lift up students and faculty in this back to school season. The American Bible Society meeting will be at 7pm following at Star Hope Baptist. All welcome to either or both.
