"When I began, I asked, 'Who do you want to be?' Maybe that is an impossible question. Because the answer will continue to change. So maybe the better question isn't: 'Who do you want to be?' Maybe it is: 'Who do you want to practice becoming," said Sarah LaPedis '23, Assistant Director of Communications and Development for Jewish Life during her Numen Lumen. Cassidy May Benullo '27 reminded us with her beautiful voice, that we cannot go back to before once we see the changes in ourselves.

His talk reminded us that "love does not wait for you to become someone else; it meets you where you are and helps you grow from there." "Every encounter gives each of us the opportunity to ask these questions: Who is this stranger to me? And perhaps more importantly: What kind of person will I be when I meet them? And every answer shapes the kind of people we become, and the kind of community we build," said Will Roberson G' 25, Director of Parent Engagement during our first Numen Lumen of the 2026-2027 academic year. Doug Jurs, Associate Professor of Music, played two beautiful pieces on piano to accompany this year's theme, The Practice of Being Human.
