Stop trying to manage your faith through a checklist. 📋❌

If your spiritual walk feels like a heavy burden of rules rather than a life-giving relationship, take a deep breath. Religion tells you to perform; Jesus simply says, "Follow Me."

Admiration for Christ from a distance keeps us stuck in our comfort zones, trying to follow regulations without ever changing our hearts. But when Jesus gets personal, He invites us to lay down the pressure of legalism and simply walk alongside Him day by day. He wants your heart, your trust, and your time, not a perfect scorecard.

Welcome to Elmwood Park Community Church! Today, we are continuing our sermon series, "The God Who Asks: Questions That Change Everything", and this week, we come to the very first recorded question of Jesus' public ministry in John 1:35–42: “What are you seeking?”

What are you searching for in life? Success? Security? Purpose? Peace? It’s a question that gets at what’s really important in life. Everyone is looking for something, but only Jesus can satisfy the deepest longings of our own souls.

Join us this week as we explore how Christ invites us beyond mere religion and into a life-changing relationship with Him. If you've ever wondered what will truly make you whole, then this morning’s message is for you!

Failure isn't the final chapter when Jesus gets personal. 🌊❤️

In the sermon snippet, we hit the emotional heart of Week 9 in our series The God Who Asks. Pastor Nathan looks at Peter, who carried the crushing weight of his past denials, thinking he was permanently disqualified. But Jesus met him right on the beach, built a charcoal fire, and asked him: "Do you love me?"

Jesus didn't ask to point a finger; He asked to pull Peter out of hiding. He traded Peter's regret for a radical new commission to serve His people.

Yesterday, our English and Spanish-speaking congregations united as one body for an amazing Bilingual Joint Service, witnessed powerful baptisms, and shared a beautiful family meal together. Thank you to everyone who brought a dish and joined the celebration!

🌍⛪ Welcome to Elmwood Park Community Church / ¡Bienvenidos a la Iglesia Comunitaria de Elmwood Park!

Today is an incredibly special Sunday at EPCC! We are gathering together as one unified family for our Bilingual Joint Service (Reunión Conjunta). Today we celebrate unified worship, witness powerful baptisms, and dive into Week 9 of our sermon series: "The God Who Asks: Questions That Change Everything."

📖 TODAY'S MESSAGE: "Do you love me?" (John 21) Have you ever failed so deeply or messed up so badly that you felt completely disqualified from God’s plan?

Today, we turn to John 21 to witness one of the most tender, restorative conversations in all of Scripture. After Peter’s absolute worst failure—denying Jesus three times—Jesus doesn’t push him away or demand an apology. Instead, the risen Christ meets Peter on the beach, cooks him breakfast, and asks him a simple, piercing question: "Do you love me?"

Join us as Pastor Nathan shares how God’s grace is infinitely bigger than our biggest mistakes, and discover how Jesus takes our brokenness and gives us a brand-new purpose.

🍲 POTLUCK IMMEDIATELY AFTER: If you are joining us in person today, please stick around immediately following the service for our church-wide family potluck!

Are we following Jesus for who He is... or just for what He can give us? 🥖🤔

This past Sunday, we continued our series The God Who Asks by diving into a hard question from John 6: "Does this offend you?"

Pastor Sean breaks down the difference between being a casual admirer of Christ and a true disciple. True faith requires major adjustments and total obedience to God—even when His truth confronts our comfort zones.

Listen to this short snippet and let it evaluate your walk this week.

Welcome to Elmwood Park Community Church! Today, we are continuing our sermon series, "The God Who Asks: Questions That Change Everything", and this week, we come to a question from Jesus that still presses on the heart: “Does this offend you?” (John 6).

Some people want a Jesus who only comforts them. But what happens when His words confront us instead? When His truth challenges our assumptions, disrupts our preferences, and makes us uncomfortable? In John 6, Jesus’ teaching shocked the crowd and exposed what they were really looking for. And when the weight of His words landed, some walked away.

This week, we’ll wrestle honestly with the difference between casual admiration of Christ and true discipleship. Following Jesus isn’t always easy, but He is always worth it. If you’ve ever struggled with a hard saying of Jesus, felt tension between what you want and what He calls you to, or wondered what it means to truly follow Him, this morning’s message is an invitation to stay, listen, and trust the One who speaks life.

What if your deepest moment of grief is exactly where Jesus wants to meet you? 🤔✨

When Mary Magdalene went to the tomb on that historic morning, she wasn't looking for a resurrected Savior—she was looking for a place to weep. She was caught in a tunnel vision of sorrow, completely missing the miracle right in front of her.

Then, Jesus asks her a beautifully tender question: “Why are you crying?”

He didn't ask because He didn't care. He asked to help her lift her eyes from the grave and realize that death didn’t have the final word.

If you are feeling spiritually dry, overwhelmed, or heartbroken this week, know that Christ is personal, He knows your name, and He has the power to turn your deepest sorrow into joy.

Share this with someone who needs a reminder of God's comfort today. 🙌🕊️

Welcome to Elmwood Park Community Church! Today, we are continuing our sermon series, "The God Who Asks: Questions That Change Everything."

The first Easter morning didn’t begin with celebration; it began with tears. Mary Magdalene arrived at the tomb heartbroken, confused, and deeply grieving. But right in the middle of her deepest sorrow, the risen Jesus met her personally, called her by name, and asked one of the most tender questions in Scripture: “Why are you crying?”

This week, we will discover how Christ meets us directly in our pain, speaks hope into our grief, and turns our sorrow into joy through the life-giving power of the resurrection.

No tear goes unseen. No heartache is beyond His reach. If you are carrying a heavy heart, dealing with loss, or looking for hope in a dark season, this morning's message is a gentle invitation to experience the peace and comfort of our living Savior.

What happens to your perspective when panic sets in? 🌪️👀

In this clip, Pastor Sean unpacks a powerful truth: fear and panic literally narrow our vision. When the storms of life hit, it’s so easy to become hyper-focused on the wind and the waves, completely losing sight of the One who is right there in the boat with us.

Don't let fear steal your focus today!
