Senior Pastor Election — Voting Procedures
Dear Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Family,
As we prepare for the election of our Senior Pastor, please carefully review the following voting procedures. Our goal is to ensure that every eligible member has a clear understanding of how and when they may cast their vote.
🗳️ IN-PERSON VOTING
Saturday, September 19, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church
Sunday, September 20, 2026
⏰ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
📍 Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church
Church members must present a valid photo identification to be eligible to vote.
If you do not have a valid photo ID:
A member may still cast a regular ballot if:
• Your name appears on the active membership list, AND
• You are positively identified by two (2) election officials.
If a member does not have a valid form of identification and cannot be positively identified by two election officials, they will not be permitted to vote a provisional ballot.
📬 ABSENTEE VOTING
Anyone may vote absentee for any reason.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot application is five (5) days prior to the election.
Absentee ballot requests must be made verbally, by phone, or by text to:

When requesting an absentee ballot, please provide:
• Name and residential address
• Election for which the ballot is being requested
• Email address or mailing address where the ballot should be sent
• Voter’s signature
(If a mark is made in place of a signature, it must be witnessed.)
📮 RETURNING ABSENTEE BALLOTS
Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the church no later than the day before the election, by close of business, via U.S. Mail.

📋 GENERAL VOTING RULES
• Members must be at least 12 years of age to vote.
• Voting by proxy is prohibited.
• Please review these procedures carefully and plan accordingly.
