This is our memory verse for the week, Bethel. Why? Because memorizing Scripture equips us for the moments we are tempted to wander into the crowd or bow to an idol.

When we fill our minds with truth, there is less room for the world’s distractions. Write it on a post-it note. Make it your phone lock screen. Do whatever it takes to let it sink deep into your heart today.

Coffee. Food. Shopping. Sports. Coffee. Books. Screens. What are the distractions you face on your spiritual journey?

When we hear the word "idol," we think of ancient statues. But 1 John 2:15-17 reminds us that modern idols hide in plain sight. They promise us security, validation, stress relief, and energy, but Psalm 106:36 drops a hard truth.

Worshiping our idols leads to a downfall.

Let's get real with ourselves this week. What is taking up the most space in your thoughts, your budget, or your calendar? Is it building God’s kingdom or your own?

“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”

What move is the Holy Spirit calling YOU to take? Maybe it's a move toward confession. Maybe it's a move toward serving. Maybe it's a move toward community.

Here are a few immediate ways to step out in faith with your Bethel family:
👉 Bethel Students (Grades 6-12): Sign up for Faith & Family Night with the MudHens on June 14!
👉 Serve Our Community: Help us pass out water at the Woodmore High School graduation on May 31, or donate water bottles to the lobby.
👉 Change a Life: Pick up a baby bottle in the lobby to support Ottawa County Pregnancy Services. Fill it and return it by Father’s Day.
👉 Take Part in Community: Be a part of something bigger by joining a small group or serve team…or both!

Our mission is to see everyone become a fully devoted follower of Christ. That starts with your next step. Allow the Holy Spirit to move you. 😉

The early church wasn’t powerful because of resources, a perfect building, or a flawless strategy. They were powerful because they were powered by the Holy Spirit.

If you are a part of a Bible-believing church, you carry that same power. Maybe it’s time to stop blending in and start modeling the beautiful, radical unity God called us to.

Where is He asking you to be the church in a fractured world this week?

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” — Proverbs 31:25

At Bethel, our worship doesn’t end when the music stops. We want to be a church that "laughs without fear" because we know our security is in Christ. That security gives us the freedom to stop looking inward and start moving outward. Sometimes the call to move isn't a giant leap; it’s a simple, faithful step.

Here are three ways you can move with us this month:
🍼 Support Life: Grab a baby bottle to support Ottawa County Pregnancy Services. Small change makes a big difference. (Return by June 21)
⚾️ Invest in the Next Gen: Sponsor a student for the MudHens Faith & Family Night or join us as a chaperone.
💦 Bless our Community: We’re donating 500 bottles of water for the Woodmore graduation. Drop a case in the lobby to help us hydrate our neighbors!

Being a fully devoted follower of Christ is like a relay race, always passing the baton and trusting God with the future. In 2 Timothy, Paul points to a genuine faith that moved from a grandmother (Lois) to a mother (Eunice) and finally to a leader (Timothy). This is the mission in action: Disciples making disciples.

Who is the Lois or Eunice in your life who showed you what following Jesus looks like? Tag them and tell them how their faith helped spark yours.

At Bethel, our mission is to see everyone become a fully devoted follower of Christ. But where does that devotion begin? Often, it starts with a woman who understands that “charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”(Proverbs 31:30)

A fully devoted follower isn’t made overnight; they are nurtured in homes where God is honored above all else.

Today, we pray for the moms and mentors who are laying that foundation. How can you help someone in your circle take their next step toward devotion this week?

On Sunday, we looked at how genuine faith is passed down through generations. The legacy of a godly woman is built in the quiet, unseen moments of every day through sacrifice, prayer, and hardy faith.

Whether she’s your biological mom, a mentor, or a spiritual mother, she was placed in your life by design. ❤️
