Greetings in the name of our Forgiving Lord,

In the book of Philippians, Paul tells us to rejoice. I am always amazed that he gives this encouragement while he is imprisoned. This is a reminder that the encouragement found in Scripture acknowledges the realities of life. Joy is a gift of God that is ours no matter what the circumstances.

God bless you with His love,
Pastor Lutz

Greetings in the our Extravagant Lord,

Jesus’ parables are often a picture of the absurd. There is a reason for this. If we look at our sin we would have to admit that it is absurd that we would respond to God’s love with rebellion. Even more absurd is that the Lord responds to our rebellion with His limitless grace. It is only an absolutely absurd love that can match an absurd sin.

God bless you with His love,
Pastor Lutz

Greetings in the Name of the King of Kings,

As we continue to view political ads, we are reminded of what people are willing to do to gain or maintain authority. This stands in contrast to our Lord, who “did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing.” This is the beauty of God’s love and grace. He was willing to give away everything to make us His own. Nothing is of more value to Him than we are.

God bless you with His love,
Pastor Lutz

Greetings in the Name of our Gracious Lord,

The Lord’s ways are not our ways. This Biblical teaching is about God’s grace. We often look for things to be fair. God is not fair. God is gracious. He doesn’t give us what we deserve. We are to rejoice in God’s graciousness. This is true when we receive it or when we see others receive His grace.

God bless you with His love,
Pastor Lutz
