Good Afternoon. Our lesson takes place before the eventual fall of Judah. Here we see that Zedekiah was king during this time period and he didn't do what was right in God's eyesight which was to obey His commandments and heed His words by listening to His prophets who by the way was Jeremiah in this case. Jeremiah told the king to simply surrender to the Babylonians who were a mighty force, but the king didn't listen. Instead he rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and as a result of the actions of one man Judah suffered. Kings tells us that in the 9th year of Zedekiah's reign,in the 10th month, and on the 10th day of the month the Babylonians laid a siege wall to the kingdom of Judah. Basically instead of trying to take the city of Jerusalem which was protected by a thick wall, they built a siege wall around it meaning nothing could come in and nothing could come out. This siege lasted nearly two years meaning whatever provisions they had were either gone or were in the process of being gone. So in a desperate attempt both the king and his soldiers breached the city wall and fled by night to avoid detection. Now you would think that they escaped scot free but they didn't. The king was captured by the Chaldean army who worked with the Babylonians and as for his army they fled. They brought him before the same king whom he rebelled against and passed judgment. They then killed his sons in front of him signaling the end of the kingdom of Judah. This was the last sight Zedekiah ever saw because afterwards they blinded him bound him in chains and took him to Babylon where he spent the rest of his life at. As for his kingdom it was burned to the ground including the great Temple which would lay in ruins until the time of Ezra and Nehemiah which is why this lesson is entitled We've fallen and we can't get up . This lesson was based on the print passage coming from 2nd Kings 24:18-25:9. As always stay safe and have a great day. God Bless.

Good afternoon. In our lesson the prophet Jeremiah is thrown into a well for basically telling the truth concerning Israel's future. Upon hearing what had happened an Ethiopian eu**ch named Ebed-Melech left the palace and went to the Benjamin Gate where the king was sitting hearing cases. Hey spoke to the king boldly but with respect, telling him that the princes acted wickedly by throwind the prophet into a empty well to die and he can't eat because there's little bread in the city. Simply put this eu**ch told the king that if he doesn't rescue Jeremiah from the empty well then he would starve to death and his death would be on you. Upon hearing the words of the eu**ch combined with the remorse and guilt he was feeling, he ordered this eu**ch to take 30 men with you and get the prophet Jeremiah out of the well before he dies. So Ebed-Melech did as the king cimmanded. He took the 30 men along with some old rags and worn out clothes. He let these items down by rope and instructed Jeremiah on how to use the rags and clothes. Once free from the empty well,he was still in in custody and the eu**ch couldn't get him out. Only the king had the authority to do this which is why this lesson is entitled Well? That's a deep subject. This lesson was based on the print passage coming from Jeremiah 38:7-13. As always stay safe and have a great day. God Bless.

Good morning. The heart. It, along with the brain, is one of the most important muscles in the body. The heart is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body, providing oxygen and nutrients to the body, eliminates waste and maintain blood pressure. Now these are the physical aspects of the heart. The emotional side is different. Our hearts have a wide range of emotions from happy to sad to anger and so forth. Our hearts are also home to our desires which in turn control our emotions. Our desires come from something that we as humans really really want or long for which is why this lesson is The heart wants what the heart wants. This lesson was based on the print passage coming from Jeremiah 31:29-34,John 1:17. As always stay safe and have a great day. God Bless.

Good afternoon. Before I give a summary of the lesson I just want to apologize for posting so late. With that being said relief. A word we all know especially after a stressful day at a worksite but what is relief? Well relief according to the dictionary is a feeling of reassurance and relaxation following release from anxiety or distress. To put it in a different perspective you had a bad/stressful day at work and you're ready to go home. Once you get home, what's the first thing you do: go to bed. In other words your bed is the place you go to relax and sleep after work. It's your way of finding relief. Here in our lesson the prophet Isaiah talks about the Messiah and how he will suffer for our sins. Isaiah tells us that the Messiah will borne our infirmities, carry our diseases, be wounded for our transgressions, and be crushed for our iniquities. Isaiah also prophesied that the Messiah would be oppressed and afflicted but despite this he won't open his mouth. In other words the Messiah will suffer for our sins and be silent but not helpless. Now fast forward several centuries after this prophecy and we see that Jesus went through the exact same thing that Isaiah prophesied via crucifixion. You see Jesus the Messiah went through so much pain and anguish(physical and spiritual) in order for us to have a chance at eternal life and he also through his resurrection became that bridge between God and man meaning that we now have a mediator. Simply put we don't have to go through the horrible events Jesus went through in order to have our sins/iniquities forgiven which is why this lesson is asks the question: How do you spell "relief"? This lesson was based on the print passage coming from Isaiah 53:1-7. As always stay safe and have a great day. God Bless.

Good morning. In our sunday school lesson King Josiah,Amon's son and Manasseh's grandson restored the temple. In this time funds were raised in order to get the materials necessary to restore the temple. Around this time Hilkiah the high priest found a book but it wasn't just an ordinary book. It was the book of the law. Now whether it was the Torah or just one book is not clear but what is clear is that this book needed to be brought before the king which is why this lesson is entitled Finders Keepers. This lesson was based on the print passage coming from 2nd Chronicles 34:15-22,26-27. As always stay safe and have a great day. God Bless.

Good morning. The past. It's something people want to forget and some even say that you shouldn't bring up the past. While all that's said true there are some things from the past that help you to understand where you came from. It also helps you to understand the present in order to prepare for the future and this is something Hezekiah clearly understood as he sent messengers to the twelve tribes to invite them to the Passover and in remembering the passover of times past he made preparations for this incredible feast that was to take place which is why the lesson is entitled Celebrating the past. This lesson was based on the print passages coming from 2nd Chronicles 30:1-9,26-27. As always stay safe, and have a blessed day.God Bless.

Good Evening. In our lesson the prophet Isaiah has a vision which occurs after the death of King Uzziah. In this vision he sees God sitting on the throne and it's high/lofty indicating that he's the ruler/creator of the universe. Afterwards Isaiah sees these powerful but humble beings called seraphims. They use their wings(six in total) to cover their face and body as well as fly to spread God's message. But at the same time these powerful beings use their voice to give praise and honor to the Trinity and their voices were so powerful that it shook the door posts of the temple. With God sitting on the throne as well as his glory filling the temple in the form of smoke along with the seraphims praising God Isaiah because aware that he was a sinful man and this his lips as well as the lips of his people were unclean. So to fix this one of the seraphims brought a hot coal from the altar of burnt offering and put it to his lips. Once this was done the seraphim told Isaiah that his guilt was gone and his sin was atoned for. Lastly God asked two questions that he still asks to this day: who shall I send and who will go before us? Without hesitation Isaiah responded by saying here I am send me. His willingness to serve God displays his obedience to God despite the fact that he didn't know what lay in store for him and that the same way with us. We're called to do God's work but we don't know what will be in store for us in the future which is why the lesson is entitled Here I am.Now what? This lesson was based on the print passages coming from Isaiah 6:1-8,38:1-5. As always stay safe, good night and have a blessed day tomorrow.God Bless.

Edit:I will continue to post sunday school summaries but some may be without videos.

Good evening everyone. First and foremost I want to apologize for not posting a video today. The reason being is because I got a job as a Walmart overnight stocker and my hours are 10pm-7am. So what this means is that there may be times that I won't be at church to film due to my hours. But I will still continue to keep the page running as usual. As always stay safe and have a good night and a better day. God bless.

Rev Linda Harris-Rives
Sunday August 24th 2025
Sermon:The power of praise and worship.
Scripture: Psalm 34:1-9.
Good morning. Praise and worship. These two words are what you hear the most at every church because these two are the backbone of the spiritual experience at any church but what is praise and worship? On one hand praise is the outward expression of thanks and adoration of God's worthiness and actions. This can be done by singing, prayer,or both. On the other hand worship is the reverence, honor, and devotion offered to God in response to His greatness and acts of saving which is expressed through every aspect of life. Just like praise(also expressed through every aspect of life) it can be done by singing, prayer or both. Despite being two different concepts, both together are powerful and no one knew this better than David. In fact in Psalm 34:1 one of the first things that David does is declare that his praise of God shall continue to be in his mouth. David knew that God deserves our best praise and worship because He's our provider, protector and in our worship experience we draw closer to Himwhich is why Pastor Linda Harris-Rives' sermon is entitled The power of praise and worship. Her sermon was based on the scripture reading coming from Psalm 34:-9. As always stay safe, and have a great day. God Bless.

Good Morning. In our lesson the author of Hebrews tells his readers not to be persuaded by doctrine that's not of God. He also reminds them of two things: First Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice through his redeeming blood and two we have a city that's not only to come but is also everlasting. The author then encourages his readers to continually praise God through worship, don't neglect to do good, and to practice charity. The reason he tells them this is that these are pleasing to God and it brings honor to him. There are many more things that the writer to the Hebrews encourages his readers to do but the main takeaway of this is that they remember the sacrificial love Jesus has for them which is why the lesson is entitled All we need is love. This lesson was based on the print passage coming from Hebrews 13:9-21. As always stay safe and have a blessed day.God Bless.
