We reach out to all people by celebrating the gift of God's unconditional love, forgiveness and grace. We live our faith through caring fellowship and Christian love, seeking to know, love, worship and serve our Lord every day. Joyously, we educate, guide and nurture children, youth, adults and families so they grow in their own faith. We endeavor to serve the needs of each other, the community and beyond.

With all the excitement that summer brings, the celebrations, gatherings, and activities that accompany the changing season, it is important that we also pause to intentionally observe Memorial Day and honor the sacrifice of the many women and men who have faithfully served in our nation’s Armed Forces.

This Sunday, May 24, we invite you to join us for a meaningful and inspiring 10:00 a.m. worship service as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday and welcome special guests from K9s for Veterans.

Representatives from this remarkable organization will be with us, accompanied by several of their service dogs, to share how their ministry and work are bringing healing, support, and hope to veterans living with the visible and invisible wounds of military service. Their story is powerful, moving, and deeply needed.

As part of our observance, a special offering will be received in support of K9s for Veterans and the life-changing work they carry out each day.

We hope you will make time to join us for what promises to be a memorable and heartfelt morning of worship, gratitude, and community.

There are few experiences in life more life-changing than becoming a parent. Now imagine becoming a parent while still in your teenage years.

For many young mothers and fathers, the journey of raising a child comes with enormous challenges. Yet time and again, we see how a caring community, practical support, and simple acts of kindness can make a lasting difference in the lives of young families.

First Congregational United Church of Christ invites you to help support teen parents by donating much-needed essentials for families served by Teen Parent Connection in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. This remarkable organization supports both young mothers and fathers by providing educational resources, guidance, encouragement, and assistance with basic daily needs.

Some of the items most urgently needed include:

• Diapers (Sizes 5 and 6)
• Boys’ clothing sizes 2T/3T
• Spring and summer clothing for newborns through 5T
• Baby wipes
• Children’s sunscreen
• Women’s deodorant
• Adult body wash

We invite you to consider adding an item or two to your grocery or shopping list and help young parents care for their little ones with dignity and hope.

On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, we will welcome Pat Nakamura from Teen Parent Connection, who will join us during worship to share an update about the important work being carried out through this ministry. Following the service, Pat will take with him the donations collected from our congregation.

Donations may be brought to church on Sundays or dropped off during the week at the church office.

Together, let us come alongside these young families with compassion, encouragement, and practical support. Every donation, no matter how small, can help make a meaningful difference.

Thank you for your generosity and care.

For over 10 years, our week-long camp has introduced students in grades K–5 to Spanish and Latin American culture through music, art, global outreach, and conversation.

This year, we are excited to introduce a new program for middle schoolers, De Colores Service Squad. This program is designed especially for youth who are ready to grow as leaders while learning about the world around them. De Colores Service Squad will take place at the same time as our camp: Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Lunch is included.

Dear Friends,

You are warmly invited to join us for a special worship service on Sunday, May 17th at 10:00 am, as we gather to bless and send forth our work trip delegation to Puerto Rico.'

This mission is more than a journey; it is a calling we share. Though a small group will travel, they go carrying the love and prayers of our entire church community. They go on behalf of their families, their friends, and our Church, extending God’s care beyond our immediate reach.

This is the largest mission endeavor that our church undertakes, and it is a meaningful expression of who we are: people willing to step out in faith to serve with others. Your presence at this worship service matters deeply. By showing up, you become part of the sending. You help surround our delegation with encouragement, strength, and prayer.

Please mark your calendar and join us as we come together in worship, unity, and hope. Let us send our delegation with full hearts, knowing they do not go alone.

With gratitude and anticipation,
Martha Mendoza, Associate Pastor
