There are few experiences in life more life-changing than becoming a parent. Now imagine becoming a parent while still in your teenage years.
For many young mothers and fathers, the journey of raising a child comes with enormous challenges. Yet time and again, we see how a caring community, practical support, and simple acts of kindness can make a lasting difference in the lives of young families.
First Congregational United Church of Christ invites you to help support teen parents by donating much-needed essentials for families served by Teen Parent Connection in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. This remarkable organization supports both young mothers and fathers by providing educational resources, guidance, encouragement, and assistance with basic daily needs.
Some of the items most urgently needed include:
• Diapers (Sizes 5 and 6)
• Boys’ clothing sizes 2T/3T
• Spring and summer clothing for newborns through 5T
• Baby wipes
• Children’s sunscreen
• Women’s deodorant
• Adult body wash
We invite you to consider adding an item or two to your grocery or shopping list and help young parents care for their little ones with dignity and hope.
On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, we will welcome Pat Nakamura from Teen Parent Connection, who will join us during worship to share an update about the important work being carried out through this ministry. Following the service, Pat will take with him the donations collected from our congregation.
Donations may be brought to church on Sundays or dropped off during the week at the church office.
Together, let us come alongside these young families with compassion, encouragement, and practical support. Every donation, no matter how small, can help make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your generosity and care.
