Congratulations to the new DYA National Team 8! Earlier last month, the new National Team had their orientation in Austin! They got to meet each other as a team for the first time, learn about what it means to be on National Team, and got to do some site seeing in the city of Austin and hang out with the young community there!

Thank you to all who supported the orientation, including DYA Director Fr.Melvin and several former National Team members!

Please pray for the new National Team as they discern how to serve our diocese and youth! Congratulations: 🥳

Walking together in the footsteps of Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV, we are thrilled to introduce our first cohort of ‘Conversation in the Spirit’ facilitators. Grounded in the conviction that ‘synodality is a style, an attitude that helps us to be Church’ (Pope Leo), these facilitators are trained to foster listening, dialogue, and communal discernment for greater intercultural and intergenerational integration in our Syro-Malabar eparchy. As we embark on this synodal path with the rest of the global Catholic church, we remember the call to conversion from ‘I’ to ‘We’ by creating spaces where the Holy Spirit can speak through us all. 🕊️👣

We’re excited to announce the Blessed Kunjachan Community Impact Fellowship, managed by our Diocesan Youth Apostolate (DYA). This fellowship invites young people to serve as full-time missionaries for our eparchy, with a focus on three core priorities: formation rooted in our Eastern Catholic tradition, support of eparchial apostolates and ministries, and service to the poor and marginalized.

Launched during our eparchial silver jubilee, the fellowship reflects the future of the Syro Malabar Church in the United States—raised up by a new generation eager to serve Christ and His Church with a strong missionary spirit. Inspired by Pope Francis’ call to go beyond our comfort zones to reach the peripheries, this fellowship invites young adults to serve our eparchy in an extraordinary way.

The fellowship is named after Blessed Kunjachan, a Syro-Malabar priest beatified in 2006 for his heroic virtue and lifelong service to the poor, especially the Dalit community. Known for his humility and generosity, he devoted his life to education, care, and advocacy for the most marginalized.

On January 28, our inaugural fellows—Anton Sebastian (Chicago, IL) and Rosie Abraham (Hershey, PA)—received their formal blessing from Bishop Mar Joy Alappat as they begin their year of service. Please keep them as well Fellowship General Coordinator, Abin Kuriakose, in your prayers as they begin this mission!
