Our mission at New Life Fellowship is to be a multiracial community deeply transforming lives through Jesus for the sake of the world. We endeavor to fulfill our mission by living out the following values, which we call our 5Ms:
Monastic: A life oriented by rhythms of prayer, silence, solitude, rest, and community
Multiracial: A spirituality that intentionally bridges racial, cultural, economic & gender barriers
eMotional Health: A spirituality committed to interiority for the sake of loving well
Marriage to Christ: Ordering our marriages/singleness & sexuality out of a deep theology of marriage to Christ
Missional: Living as people sent by God in mission for the purpose of justice, evangelism, and the shalom of our world, for the sake of the kingdom

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments happen when we slow down long enough to be together.

A little over a week ago, Elmhurst and East came together for our first-ever all-church retreat! From laughter to honest conversations and new friendships, we were reminded that church is so much more than Sunday mornings. It’s about growing together, finding community, and making space for God to refresh our hearts.

We left with full hearts and a beautiful reminder: we weren’t meant to do life alone.

This Sunday, October 11, we’ll be gathering at our All-Church Retreat! We’re looking forward to a fun weekend of worship, connection, and time together as a church family.

That means there will be NO ON-SITE SERVICES at the church this Sunday.

Not coming to the retreat? No worries, you can still tune in online this Sunday. Pastor Rich will be sharing a pre-recorded message at 10:30 AM, and you can watch from:

“Who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29

Sometimes we imagine “neighbor” as the person who lives next door.
But Jesus seems to have something much bigger in mind.

"O" found himself in a Louisiana detention center with nearly 100 strangers. Then he joined four men who were praying. Soon, there were 86. Men singing, praying, encouraging one another. Strangers became brothers. Their testimony? “Dios está aquí.” God is here.

This is the strange and beautiful work of the gospel: God creates family where the world sees strangers.

Jesus tells us to love our neighbor, not only the neighbor who looks like us, votes like us, speaks like us, worships like us, or lives near us. We're called to draw near, see the person behind the label, listen to their story, and offer dignity, compassion, and hope.

The question isn't only, “Who is my neighbor?”
It’s, “Will I become a good neighbor?”

Because wherever we draw near in love, we may discover what these brothers discovered: Dios está aquí. God is here.

Who is my neighbor, and how is God inviting me to love them?

This week, let’s pause and pray for our neighbors, for those facing hardship, uncertainty, injustice, or difficult circumstances.

As we pray, may we also ask: What does it look like for me to love my neighbors, not just in words, but with my time, my resources, my presence, and my care?

One way to put that love into action is through New Life CDC (https://www.newlifecdc.nyc), a community-based organization serving our neighbors in Elmhurst and Corona.

🙏 Pray for our community.
👂 Listen to the needs around you.
🤝 Get involved with New Life CDC.
💛 Support the work so that together we can help bring hope, restoration, and new life to our neighbors.

Lord of love, use our hands and feet to do your work. Amen.

VISION SUNDAY 2026 🙌

What a Sunday! We celebrated stories of lives changed through serving, people taking their next step of faith through baptism, and our incredible volunteers being commissioned to serve with the love of Jesus.

We celebrated what God is doing in and through our church, and looked ahead to where He is leading us.

This year, our vision is The Connected Community — Where Belonging Becomes Formation, rooted in Romans 12:5

“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

Because we were never meant to follow Jesus alone. We belong to Christ, we belong to one another, and together we are being formed into His people.

We’re grateful for what God has done, and expectant for what He’s going to do next.
