WHEN COPING BECOMES A CAGE

You learned how to survive it. But did you ever learn how to heal from it?

Sometimes we shut down because feeling hurts.
We isolate because trust hurts.
We stay busy because being still makes us think.
We numb the pain because facing it feels too hard.

But what once helped you survive can eventually become what keeps you stuck.

That's when coping becomes a cage.

God doesn't want you to spend your whole life managing wounds He wants to heal.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart…”
— Psalm 139:23

Maybe it's time to stop asking, “How do I get through this?”

And start asking, “God, what are You trying to heal in me?”

You don't have to be ashamed of how you survived.
But you don't have to stay there either.

What protected you yesterday may be keeping you from your freedom today.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
— John 8:36

Keep the Porch Light On

Maybe you’re a parent who lies awake at night wondering, “Where did I go wrong?”

You raised them. You prayed over them. You taught them right from wrong. And now you’re watching them make choices that break your heart.

There may come a moment when you realize you can’t chase them down every road they choose.

So what do you do?

You keep the porch light on.

You keep praying.
You keep loving.
You keep believing.

The porch light doesn’t mean you approve of where they’ve gone. It means you’re leaving a light on for the way home.

The prodigal son walked away, but his father never stopped watching.

And one day, “while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming.” — Luke 15:20

Don’t let what you see today make you forget what you’ve prayed for.

You may not know where your child is tonight, but God does.

You may not be able to reach them, but God can.

Keep the porch light on.
God is still writing their story.

We often ask, “What if I got it wrong?”
What if I fail? What if I fall back? What if I’m not who I thought I was?

But what if we asked a different question:

What if God got it right?

He knew every weakness before you ever faced it.
He knew every mistake you would make.
He knew you would stumble, struggle, and sometimes fall.

And He still chose you.

This moment of weakness is not a surprise to God. In His hands, it can become a weapon for His purpose.

Your weakness does not make God less sovereign.

He is still God.
He is still in control.
And He is still working in you.

He knew. He chose. And He isn't finished with you.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO BACK.

Sometimes God delivers us from something, but our mind keeps telling us to go back.

Back to the addiction.
Back to the anger.
Back to the shame.
Back to the old way of coping.

But familiar doesn't mean you belong there.

God didn't bring you this far just for you to return to what He brought you out of.

You may have a past, but you don't have to live there. You may stumble, but you don't have to stay down.

Your struggle is not your identity. Your past does not have the final word.

Keep walking forward.
Keep choosing freedom.
Keep choosing Jesus.

You don't have to go back.

Galatians 5:1 ESV
[1] For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Revival filled the altar... but what will fill your Monday?

Will the fire you felt this week become the flame that changes the way you live?

Revival isn't measured by how high we shout—it's revealed by how we live when the music stops.

So here's the question:
What are you going to do with the fire God ignited in you? 🔥

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

Some seasons are quiet but quiet doesn't mean empty.
There are times when God seems silent, doors don't open, and nothing appears to be changing. But don't mistake stillness for absence. The roots of a tree grow deepest when no one can see them.

God often does His greatest work in the hidden places. He's strengthening your faith, refining your heart, and preparing you for what comes next. Every quiet season has purpose.

Don't give up because it's quiet. Stay faithful. Stay rooted. Stay expectant.

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him..." — Psalm 37:7

Your quiet season is not an empty season. It's a growing season. 🌱💜
