Today we had a very special visitor—a miniature therapy horse! 🐴❤️

From smiles and laughter to calm moments of connection, this four-legged friend brought so much joy to our school community. Therapy animals provide comfort, reduce stress, and remind us of God’s love through the special bond we share with His creation.

A big thank you to our visitors for making today such a memorable experience for our students and staff! Sawdust the Miniature Therapy Horse

Offer your day up to the Lord!

In this episode of “Fr. Philip’s Favorite…?”, he begins a new mini-series about his favorite prayers. First up? The Morning Offering. If this is a new prayer to you, consider adding it to your prayer life!

“What’s up with that smelly stuff?”

In today’s episode of ‘Pester the Priest’, Fr. Harmon gives an overview of that smelly stuff…we mean, incense, its symbolism and the history of use within the Church. The Catholic Church goes WAY back with incense…all the way back to the Old Testament!

Adults and children alike should submit more questions to Fr. Harmon! Submit your question with this link: https://stmaryeg.org/social-media

Hail, Mary, full of grace…

We are more than halfway through the month of May, a month dedicated to our Blessed Mother. The Catholic Church has set aside this spring month to Our Lady for centuries; the month that brings forth new life, as she brought forth new life and salvation for all as the Mother of God.

“If your point of reference is Mary, you will be able to face every uncertainty…” - Pope Leo XIV

It is easy to find Mary around our parish’s school as reminders of this vital point of reference. As our students go about their school day, she can be spotted in the hallways and classrooms. May Our Lady be a compass for us all towards her son, the Christ, during this month and all months.

Congratulations to Fr. Andrew Swietlik on his priestly ordination and Mass of Thanksgiving this past weekend!

He spoke beautifully about the importance of daily Mass, prayer, and the role that family and parish community played in helping him hear and answer God’s call. We were also deeply moved by the thoughtful gifts he presented to his parents, a stole for his father and a special linen cloth called a maniturgium for his mother, signs of gratitude and of a life offered completely to God.

Please keep Fr. Andrew in your prayers as he begins his priestly ministry. And let us continue to pray for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life.

💛Heavenly Father, we ask You to raise up holy priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated men and women to serve Your Church. Inspire hearts to hear Your call, give courage to those discerning their vocation, and strengthen all who have answered You with generous faith. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church, may many souls follow Christ with joyful and faithful hearts. Amen.💛

Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above.

The newest episode of “Fr. Philip’s Favorite…?” gives an overview of the Marian Devotion: May Crowning. Fr. Philip discusses how this devotion is not only isolated to Churches, and if you haven’t already, crown Mary Queen of your lives in your own homes, as well!

A priest in the making…

A rapid-fire Q&A to get to know Charles a little better! As part of Charles’ formation, he is assigned to a teaching parish in order to facilitate and assist his pastoral formation. We are blessed to have him as our seminarian here at SMV! God-willing, Charles will be ordained a priest in 2028.
