Tuesday devotion.

Do not neglect gathering. We have heard this over and over. Do you neglect gathering with other believers in one accord worshipping the Lord, singing praise to the Lord, being together in corporate prayer? It seems easy to miss Sunday and say we have much better things we need to do, get the oil changed, make sure that new comforter feels even better when waking up and sleep through the day. We do try so hard to make sure we can find a reason not to gather outside of being sick or work that requires us to miss Sundays. Look and ponder the following Scripture from Hebrews.

Hebrews 10:24-25
New International Version
“24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Folks now is the time to “not give up meeting together.” Be a part of the church. Be sure to meet and worship and encourage one another.
Start your week of encouraged. I can tell you as the pastor at Aenon, you will walk away happy and encouraged by the other believers meeting together. Have you neglected gathering with the other believers at worship, study groups, Bible classes?

Monday blues

Have those Monday morning blues hit you as you wake up and either get ready for work, school, or yard chores? No one likes having to get back into the daily work or school mode after the weekend.

Lamentations 3:23–24 states, "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 'The Lord is my portion,' says my soul; 'therefore I will hope in him.'"

In this passage of Scripture the Lord reminds us that His love, His faithfulness, and His care for us is refreshed and renewed daily. Just like a Monday morning new, fresh, never loved this day before, but no matter what the Lord’s promise in Lamentations we shall have hope in God everyday and know that He cares for us and is our “portion” daily.

Forgiveness. Friday devotion

Need to be forgiven? Have you forgiven those who have come against you? Maybe you stirred the pot and made folks mad at work, home, school, or even church. It is time to forgive. It is not easy to forgive. But when you have been wronged by someone you know how bad it makes you feel. You want to go get them and tell them how wrong they are, inconsiderate l, childish, whatever it may be. But that is the wrong way. To handle things when people come against you. Forgive them. Just like Peter and John did in Acts 4.

Here is Scripture to ponder from Col. 3:13 “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

If we want to be forgiven by God, it will only happen when we forgive others for issues.

Thursday Devotion

Grace

What is grace? In the Bible grace is very important to a Believer in Christ. Here is what then Billy Graham Evangelistic Association describes grace in the Bible. “In the Bible, grace means God giving unearned love, kindness, and favor to people who do not deserve it.”

Grace should be given to everyone we talk to and come into contact with as an example of the massive love God gives us in our daily lives. When we think a spouse messed up or a child or a neighbor cut the grass too low…. Give grace as God gives us daily. We are undeserving of His love and grace but He even sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for our sins that Christ covers in grace.

Wednesday devotional.

What does light mean to you? Many people prefer some light in their house at night to dimly light the hall or bathroom. That way when you break your toe on a chair you can say you didn’t see it. True story. If we have the light of Christ in us then we are saved. If we live in the darkness of the universe we are living with the devil and void of the Savior. Today chose light. Walk away from the darkness, the place of sin. The following talks about Christ being the light of the world and the dark being the sin of the world. John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life

Tuesday devotion.

Sunday we spoke about Evangelism as part of our 26-27 vision. Looking at Matthew 28-16-20. The Great Commission. Here is a quote about church. “The true church is not a building, but a body of believers united in faith and love." — Unknown. So true and this emphasizes some thoughts about evangelism. The church is the people and not the building. We probably all have the church signs at the church grounds in front of the church building. But we say it all
Wrong I am sure. Maybe we should say on the signs. The Aenon Missionary Baptist Meeting House as it is housing the base of the church the people. And as the church people we must move into the fields around us and tell
The good news of Jesus. We must go out and tell
The good news of Jesus Christ. Which is what Evangelism means. Tell the good news. As you enter Tuesday, be ready to tell the good news of Christ to all. Sounds to hard today? We all talk in some manner and we all forget that we gossip at times, so if we just rearrange all that and talk about Christ to others then we are telling the good news of Christ and spreading cheer. Spread the cheer of the Good news and not the gossip of the devil. And when we tell the good news of Jesus, we will make ourselves feel so much better and we will be a much happier person.
