It is with bittersweet joy that the Church of Life and Praise announces the forthcoming retirement of our Senior Pastor of 58 years, Reverend Dr. James F. Heard, whose retirement will take effect on June 28th.
Pastor Heard has lead our congregation with dignity, wisdom, and unwavering faith for the entirety of our church’s existence. He is also one of the longest-tenured pastors in our region. His earnest devotion to the Gospel and his tireless efforts to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to our area will leave an impact that can only be fully measured when we reach eternity.
Following Pastor Heard’s retirement, the pastorate of the Church of Life and Praise will be assumed by Reverend Alec Leathers, as voted on by the membership of our congregation.
And so, with immense gratitude we reflect on Pastor Heard’s faithful service and the impact he has had on countless lives. Yet, we also look toward the future with excitement as a new chapter in our church’s history begins. Now, we build on the foundation that Pastor Heard has laid and move forward with renewed purpose and vision.
