Chew on This – By Pastor Joel
A word of hope for your life…

Psalm 37:7a “Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act”.

It is hard to be still, to wait, to rely on others, to rely on the Lord.
And yet, this is instruction for us today. There are a number of truths
for us in this verse. One is that we can be in the presence of the Lord!
This is available to us. Perhaps one reason a person is unable to “be still”
– and not just physically still, but lack a sense of stillness in their being,
in their soul – is because they are unable to sense God’s presence. When
a person is in the presence of the Lord, stillness is possible, there is peace.

A second truth for us: God acts! We can only do so much. We are
limited, but God is unlimited. We have finite resources, but God has
infinite resources. We only see what is around us, but God sees all that exists. We want God to act, and God wants us to wait patiently. The promise here is that God will act. It may not be on our timeline, but it
will happen. Trust him today with your life’s situation and know that
God will act.

Chew on This
A word of hope for your life…

“Remember that the LORD rescued you from the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt in order to make you his very own possession, which is what you are today.” Deuteronomy 4:20.

The Israelites had just left Egypt under the leadership of Moses and Aaron, shepherds sent by God to free His people from slavery. God performed numerous miracles that included sending 10 plagues to torment and destroy the Egyptians as well as parting the Red Sea as a final escape from Pharaoh. The Israelites were now living in the wilderness where food, water, and shelter were tough to find. They needed to keep relying on God for their daily existence, which is hard to do. The people complained and began to wonder if God had forgotten them or led them to the wilderness to die. Even though God had rescued them, even though they were free from slavery, they had a “what have you done for me lately, God?” mindset.
We too can have that same mindset. “What have you done for me lately, God?” is not a helpful mindset. The solution??? Remember! We are to remember what God has done for us during the times we feel forgotten by God. God does not forget. God does not rescue us only to abandon us. God would never abandon those He rescues. He did not abandon the Israelites in the wilderness and God will not abandon you today. When we remember what God has done, we are filled with Hope for what God will do. May that be true for you today.

It is with sadness today that I share that all Ruby's Pantry locations are closed, effective immediately.

It's been a pleasure serving the community for the years that we have been able to do Ruby’s Pantry.

I would like to THANK our amazing volunteers and people purchasing shares. It was an honor to volunteer with you and help everyone with their food budget.

Please share this news with anyone that may not be on Facebook! Thank You!!

Attached is the note from Ruby’s Pantry home office.

Greetings,

Over the past several months, we have been thoughtfully realigning the work, structure, and focus of Ruby’s Pantry to ensure our mission remains at the center of everything we do. As part of this process, we have worked to better align community needs with our goal of operating in the most effective and seamless way possible.

As a result, we have decided to end the operations of Ruby’s Pantry effective immediately. We recognize that this is difficult news to receive and do not take this decision lightly.

God has blessed Ruby’s for over 20 years, and it has been an incredible journey. It all started from a vision to help others through a single blessing box. We are truly grateful for your contributions and dedication throughout your time with Ruby’s Pantry. Thank you for the important role you have played on this journey and for the impact you have made in service of our mission

UPDATE: Ruby’s Pantry on Saturday is cancelled due to the closing of Ruby’s Pantry effective March 31, 2026. Please see...
