As Christians, we live in this world, but our ultimate citizenship is somewhere else. In Philippians 3:17–4:1, Paul challenges believers to consider whose example they are following and where their true allegiance lies.

Our citizenship shapes the way we live, the master we follow, and even the way we view those around us. Are we walking according to the values of our heavenly home, or are we allowing the world to set the direction for our lives?

A Citizen of Heaven Walks to a Different Beat — Our heavenly citizenship should be evident in the way we live. We are called to follow Christ rather than simply conforming to the patterns around us.
A Citizen of the World Follows Their Master — Paul contrasts those whose minds and lives are focused on earthly things with those who follow Christ. What we pursue reveals who we are following.
How Do We View Citizens of Earth? — As citizens of heaven, we should remember where we came from and view others with the grace, compassion, and love that Christ has shown us.

In Matthew 21:28–32, Jesus tells the parable of two sons who respond very differently when their father asks them to work. One son says no, but ultimately goes and does what his father asked. The other says yes, but never follows through.

This simple story challenges us to look beyond what we say and examine what our lives actually demonstrate. Our words may tell one story, but our actions reveal what is truly in our hearts.

First Son = No Poker Face — His initial answer was no, but his actions ultimately showed obedience.

Second Son = Poker Face — He said the right thing, but his actions revealed that his heart was somewhere else.

Who Does the Will of the Father? — Jesus points us toward the importance of doing the Father's will, not simply saying the right words.

Thank you to the ladies at the Sisterhood lunch this month for being so generous to the CLC.

We are so thankful to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church's Sisterhood for inviting us to be part of their August monthly luncheon! It was such a sweet time of fellowship, laughter, and encouragement. 💕

The ladies generously brought school supplies to donate to CLC, and we are incredibly grateful for their kindness and generosity. 📚✏️🎒 Their support is a beautiful reminder of what it looks like when God’s people come together to invest in His work and in the lives of students in our community.

We are especially thankful for Pleasant Grove's longstanding support of CLC. Your continued prayers, generosity, and encouragement mean so much to us and help make this ministry possible.

Annual Revival 2026 — Wednesday Night

Join us Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM for the final service of our Annual Revival at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

For four special services, we have gathered together for worship, prayer, and the preaching of God's Word, seeking revival in our hearts, our church, our community, and our nation.

We are grateful to have Scott Smith of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board (GBMB) with us throughout this revival. His biblical messages have been designed to encourage believers, strengthen the church, and challenge each of us to draw closer to Christ.
