We are proud that Howard County was among the first communities in Maryland recognized as a JustServe City, bringing together residents, nonprofits, faith groups, and local leaders to meet community needs through service.

As highlighted during the 50th anniversary celebration of the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors’ Center, Maryland Governor Wes Moore was honored for his commitment to service and community engagement. His message that service can unite people across backgrounds and beliefs reflects the spirit of JustServe and the work happening right here in Howard County.

We are grateful for the many volunteers, community organizations, elected officials, and neighbors who make Howard County a place where people come together to lift and strengthen one another. Thank you for helping build a culture of service that blesses our entire community.

The commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the Washington DC Temple Visitors’ Center included awarding the JustServe Hero Award to Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

The Washington DC Temple Visitors' Center is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The kickoff event for this Golden Jubilee event will begin at 7pm this Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the Visitors' Center. The public is welcome to celebrate this important milestone.

Recently, Camille Johnson, president of The Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came to Maryland for a series of visits and gatherings across the region.

From a tour of the U.S. Naval Academy and speaking with midshipmen to uplifting gatherings with youth, local leaders, and women, her messages centered on faith in Jesus Christ, service, leadership, and hope.

We are grateful to everyone who participated and helped create a warm and inspiring atmosphere throughout the weekend. Experiences like these strengthen our own faith and purpose.
