❤️ OWE THEM LOVE
What if there’s one debt we’re never supposed to finish paying?
Romans 13:8 tells us, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another.”
That changes the way we think about love. Biblical love isn’t simply an emotion we feel when circumstances are right or people are easy to love. It’s a continuing obligation—a way of life that reflects the heart of God.
❤️ Love the person who encourages you.
❤️ Love the person who frustrates you.
❤️ Love when it’s convenient.
❤️ Love when it costs you something.
Why? Because love does something remarkable: love fulfills the law.
When we genuinely love our neighbor, we don’t seek to harm them. We begin thinking about their needs, their struggles, their dignity, and their good.
Jesus didn’t merely teach us about this kind of love. He showed us what it looks like.
So perhaps the question isn’t simply, “Do I love people?”
A better question might be: “Can people see the love of Christ through the way I treat them?”
There will never be a day when we can say, “I’ve loved enough. My debt is paid.”
The debt of love continues. ❤️
And that means every conversation, every relationship, every act of patience, forgiveness, generosity, and compassion gives us another opportunity to live the Gospel.
